JACKPOT!!! From Dean Marks.France

"To Sew or Not to Sew"

Who knew that Dean would be able to find the "exact" upholstery that this furniture piece was made out of...it's supple, and a beautiful beige faux leather; and easy to clean (well for the help of course!). And when…

Collage and image transfer from Finland!

Carina tells me her beautiful collage and image transfer is called 'One day I be myself' and is part of a series with the same title. Each is different.  Do you have one of these enchanting pieces?

Carina's piece came in an envelope with a selection of postage stamps and carved rubber stamps. This one is fab.…

Altered postcard from Svenja!

Svenja found two beautifully decorative creatures to arrange provocatively and reminds me on the back, 'the  impossible is often the untried'.  I will try harder and more often, inspired by Svenja.

POP! the cork (corks) and drink up Dean Marks

No ... - - - ...

This is a full symphony of corking fun.

Imagine the amount of wine consumed? Or does Dean collect these over

a long period of time? Whatever, he orchestrates them all into a beautiful happy haptic collage.

(and sends them without a French envelope!)…

Some Mail Art can not be seen by photos: Marie Wintzer's squares on a string

Marie in Japan sent me this lovely mail art piece.  It is a series of paper squares on a string with knots  between each square.  I couldn't just show it with one single photo.  So here it is in all its glory.

This Has Nothing To Do With Mail Art...

This has nothing to do with mail art... Or does it?

When I first joined this lovely community of like-minded, creative types, I was in the midst of a project for which I had great passion. I was literally pouring myself into it. So much time had I dedicated to this particular project that I was unable to focus on anything else for very long. (Thus the…

Time for a Thom Massblog

Months ago Thom Courcelle sent me this crocheted lime juice bottle (who needs Absolut bottle art when Thom has his crochet hook out?) I had been greedily eyeing other IUOMA members who had received Thom's woolly wonders, so was delighted when this arrived for me! Life got in the way but I knew that I just had to share this lemony piece with you all one day. Thom says it's neither lemon nor lime, either way, I am CHUFFED.…

Marie's "A Line" boekie

This is another of Marie's incredible pieces - images, words and beautiful paper making up a wonderful statement about A Line. I think Paul Klee wrote "a line is a dot that has gone for a walk".... Marie's lines are all over the place... a real or imaginary mark demarcating a specified section, the battle area closest to the enemy, a series of person, especially from one family, a cable, a rope, a clothesline and on and on and on - Paul Klee's line wasn't as adventurous as Marie's. The…

Marie's massblog

Marie hasn't forgotten me either lately, sending me 3 wonderful pieces over the past 2 months. As always they are amazing works, the first being a Marie-layered image surrounded by her higgledypiggledy stitching (I think Marie may have got an F in Needlework class....) (sorry Marie! my stitching did too) and attached with her FAB floaty Japanese paper on a swatch of denim fabric. The enclosed note said it was to cheer me up which it sure did! Wishes from Japan... and the envelope is a…

Massblog for Nancy

Over the past few months Nancy has faithfully been sending me these wonderful pieces, even though I have not had time to reciprocate, so here's a massblog of them in all their glory.... each shows Nancy's inimitable style which is becoming more and more professional with each piece, so recognisable now, as are her envelopes. Nancy even sent me a piece of "toast" and a watercolour of apples, methinks Nancy thinks I need nourishment... her work nourishes my soul for sure! I even received an…

This is not art by David Stafford

David is most insistent that this is not art, I know it is just the backing board for his lovely watercolour of a startled looking woman who has just had a rocketship fly past her ear, although it is her hairstyle that concerns him the most. And as David has put so much work into the backing board I have to say it has become part of the art work... OK so it is Larry who has reservations about the hairstyle, not David. Larry thinks her sideburns could cut like a scimitar, with curves like a…
