Pacific Northwest Mail Artists

This group is for mail artists in the northwest corner of the U.S. and British Columbia.  Exchange mail art with your region's artists and maybe meet in person.  We are planning quarterly meetings in the Seattle area where we will make mail art together and share what we are working on, as well as some favorite pieces we have received.  We'll also share tips and techniques.  Put a face to the name on the envelope!See More

Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I found out about IOUMA from a woman wearing postage stamp pajamas at Breitenbush Hot Springs. I have been exchanging mail art throughout my life with my sister, a retired USPS letter carrier.

I like to make art and send and receive mail. I like the idea that in mailing a piece of art you are giving it away.

I love paper, printmaking, collage, color, surrealism, juxtaposition, all things vintage.

I am a bookseller, and also recycle old books into journals.

Your A&P 2020 calendar arrived in my mail back in August. As and when it gets back to you, please show us the end result - given the way the pandemic's taken over our lives all around the world, I'd love to see what we all made of it.

I'm afraid what I'm adding, Amy, is getting grimmer and grimmer! But heaven knows what it'll be like when it eventually gets back home.

You Add&Pass book made from the calendar has now reached me in England - talk about making me realise how long back the pandemic started, and how long it looks like we're going to be living with this virus!

Sometimes it works dadapoetically to make mistakes. Gokko print sounds almost like a rip off fashion label. Surviving cancellation intact. Pouched envelope. Lovely bloopers.

Amy’s delicate envelope featured punched and possibly cut elements that survived cancellation intact.
