CIRCLES

Call them circles, call them dots, use a hole punch, use a template, draw them, scribble them, paint them, collage them. This is all about circles and how we make use of them.See More

ADD & PASS - The X Files

In the Mail Art activity, there are interesting ideas that are explored, like Mail Art Calls, Collaborative Books, Visual Poetry etc, and we also have the  ADD & PASS, which are created somewhere in the world by a Mail Artist who send by mail one "object", proposing that it be changed or simply Added an Artistic Intervention by another Mail Artist, appealing that the "object" being referred back to an following artist, chosen randomly or not.The original creator Add its Address on the…See More

Just for SQUARES!

There was a prompt from CreativeSprint to make something just using squares. I'd forgotten how I'd learned to love squares while teaching 2D design with Wucius Wong and Josef Albers Interaction of Color (years ago) I thought, Wow, there must be other Square lovers out there. Thanks to Katerina for the name idea. See More

Some mystery mail

Posted on October 20, 2020 at 10:42pm 3 Comments

mystery mail

I have received some great mail but it has no name and no return address I love the mystery behind it but I would like to send something back to them. The hint maybe a chain mail artist stamp on the back, along with Pagan frog.

Welcome to IUOMA. If you search for "Welcome to Cascadia Artpost", you can find two previous mail art blogs that provide some background on Cascadia Artpost. Our focus is artistamps, postcards, occasional collages, moticos, and periodic zines showing some feature of the Cascadia Diorama. Stay healthy & cheers, Jack @ Cascadia Artpost

Hello Amanda — not sure whether you ever got a reply to your query about 'Energyman'. You can find Michael Leigh here

11.07.20 Dare Ms. Amanda, ...yes, I too gladly join Michael Leigh ( comment @ MAIL ART UK),  et al,  &  hop aboard the "Welcome Band Wagon" for Amanda at the IUOMA. I look forward to the possibility of a postcard or something. SinCelery, Richard Canard ........Post Scriptum: I always thought "Social Distancing" was the definition of mail art.

Of course, I am honoured to be your friend, Amanda. I visited your website and I am impressed with your work, particularly those wall hooks . . . !  Olé!

Oh, should have noticed you are in the UK. Well, if you order a bunch of stamps, just wood mounted without handles, the international postage should not be too exorbitant. Jack@Cascadia Artpost

Amanda,

You can order custom rubberstamps from Simon's Stamps:

http://www.simonstamp.com/

I have ordered from them for years. You can create your own images (graphics, typography), save your desired image as a JPEG file, then upload the image at Simon's website. They offer quick service and I order enough different rubberstamps to have them sent by Priority Mail. - Jack @ Cascadia Artpost
