My permanent address is in St Catharines, however I live in Toronto currently for school. A cootie catcher is sort of like a paper fortune teller; here is a link to an example.

Hello there! Apologies for the delay in my response. I’ll make something for you in the next few weeks. I have a postcard that has been living in my box for many years now and I was waiting for a reason to use it—finally, now I have found one. I’ll send my address to your inbox shortly. Looking forward to exchanging art with you, Kayenderes! -Cheers, Keye C.

Found Poetry can be random works you cut out of a newspaper or magazine and arrange to form a poem. Or take a page from an old book and "black out" all but a few words. (Also called Eraser Poetry) Like this http://iuoma-network.ning.com/photo/run/next?context=album&albu...

A Deco book went out with this afternoon's mail from me to you.

Hi Kayenderes. I find old photographs in antiques stores, family albums, and online. Then I do some photoshop on them. I have a tiny laminator that I use on them because the brads stay better.  Glad you  like it!-Kathy

  • Melissa Wand

Of course! You can send me add & passes anytime!

  • BoozyBarb

Hi Kayenderes, I’m happy to take a Deco or two. I’m always happy to work on just about anything.

  • Melissa Wand

Thanks Kayendres! I love this! I want to learn how to make these.

  • Bonniediva

Dearest Kayenderes, Thanks for the beautiful mail art! I love all the lovely things you send! Hugs, Bonniediva

Hello, Kayenderes! I'm in Bismarck North Dakota, recently (VERY recently) late of Chicago...it's totally different up here! The isolation is going to be very good for getting mail art done and I look forward to trading with people here, I only recently found out about this mail art community and I am really glad to be getting to know it!

Originally I was doing a lot of one-off, sorta shotgun-style mailouts to found addresses...a lot of collage and detournement but am open to Add and Pass, etc...I'm planning a bit of everything, really, hah....I got started in 90s zine culture way back when and have been pulled back into all that over time one way or another....

  • Melissa Wand

Thanks for the Add & Passes, DECOS, Sewed Postcards, and Mug Rug. I drink a lot of hot tea in the winter, so that'll get a lot of use!! I have a Frida Kahlo postage stamp, so I'll send you a fridge magnet soon.

  • BoozyBarb

Hi Kayenderes, I’m working on your Witches Deco, it’s super cute. I’ll send it on soon.

  • Melissa Wand

Don't worry, I'm sure most of your DECOS will find their way back to you. It just takes time....

  • Mim Golub Scalin

    Hello Kayenderes,

Circles are so satisfying, aren't they.  I have hole punches of various sizes. I've also been known to trace around a lid, and cut it out slowly with an Exacto knife. Slowly. But usually, I punch. Welcome to the group.

  • Mim Golub Scalin

    Hello Kayenderes,

I've sent you some circles. I hope you enjoy getting them. I use Uhu or Pioneer glue sticks. I was not a fan of glue sticks, but one year, the university where I was teaching, had us stop using toxic material like rubber cement. That had been our go-to glue for years though it didn't hold up. I have had many small collages that my husband made me when we were first datiing,  years and years ago, fall apart. SO we had to find other glue and it turned out that glue sticks had improved and I had my students put what they were gluing on a piece of paper and hold it down with a pencil or something, not hold it in their hands, and found that was a neater way to work. Also, I taught them to burnish the glue pieces down, creating a better bond.  Does that make sense?

I'm rushing a bit as we're leaving for a trip in a bit Going to Paris for 10 days. Going to see old friends and eat some baguettes. And refresh my French language skills.

LOoking forward to seeing what you do with the circles.

    Mim

Mais bien sûr, Madame!  Bonne vacance.

Hi Kayenderes, I just received 2 Decos you started. I will add the last page of your “Corn” deco and send it home to you. Also I will alter a page in the “Quote” deco, then pass it on, as it has several blank pages.

  • Gerda Osteneck

Dear Kayenderes, Thank you so much for all the thoughtful things you have sent me. The mug rug is wonderful! Winter is a good time for catching up on mail.

I hope you are well and your spirit is strong.

    Fond regards, Gerda

  • Amy Irwen

Hi Kayenders....I dont have any add n pass booklets right now. If I get another one I will send it your way....

  • Bill Porter

It is my pleasure to accept your friend request, Kayenders, I'm glad that you liked the booklet and I'll look forward to this association.

  • Lynne Gurnee

Hi Kayenderes, The book can be however you want it, but a simple pamphlet-stitch book works well so you can open/flatten the book for mailing so it costs less in postage. I will make one and send it to you, and you can put your own final return address on the back.  Sometimes they come back to you, sometimes they don't. I just think of them going out into the world, and "let go."  Lynne  (-:

HI! I have not heard from you since before December. I hope all is well!

  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Kayenderes, I am sending you a beautiful Add & Pass sheet for you to play with. I think you will like it!

  • Cherub Ayers

Mail art in the mail for you today!!!

  • Steph Dodson

Thank you for the welcome and for the stuffed envelope of a&p projects. Loved your handmade envelope! Blogged here.

  • Susan Gnaedinger

Why don't you wait and see how it all plays out.? I'm involved with two envelope groups and the envelope is the art. There will be another envelope plus 2 collages.

  • Susan Gnaedinger

I'm putting a packet in the mail for you today. Hope it makes you smile. I received your mail art on Friday. Thanks

  • Susan Gnaedinger

This is the third time I have tried to send you a message. The last two don't appear to be working...I'm doing something wrong. Anyway, it was a great surprise to receive your mail!!! I knew it was from you because of Frida Kahlo. I will send you something soon. Can I also send you an add and pass?

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    Thank you, Kayenderes,

a full packet with Add/Pass arrived in Greece!

    see the blog:

  • Ilya Semenenko-Basin

Thank you! I've never seen such a postage stamp. Probably, the collage on the theme "potato" should depict the state of the potato or a group of potato eaters.

  • Margaret Jeddry

Thank you for the message.  I like to trade ATCs.

  • Margaret Jeddry

I also love Add and Passes

  • Mail Art News

What kind of swapping? We can trade lives for a few days. Swap rubber stamps?

Thanks. I am lucky sometimes. ;-)
