The usual reasons: it's truly democratic (if you ignore the poor folks who don't have mail service) and it is NECESSARY for my soul to create/share art in such a fashion. I can't quite put a finger on why I went from collecting stamps to making my own stamps when in my early teens thinking I was the only weirdo on the planet to do such a thing.
The Minister for Silly Affairs -- who admires your caligraphy -- has asked me to thank you very much for your "Brexit? You Bet!" Silly Stamps. He was tempted to send one to the President of the EU (with instructions about where he could stick it), but decided to keep both of them for himself.
Thank you. Bedankt.
And if you are ina Coffee Shop in Maastricht in July/August you may well have the opportunity of receiving the Minister's thanks in person.
Hey, Bradford! I took your suggestion and started uploading a few zines I've made recently. I'm working on one this weekend about mail art and penpals that I'll upload when I'm done! :D
Howdy to you too! I am brand spanking new to this. I am very excited but a bit overwhelmed about how to find my way. Please bear with me. Thanks for the Howdy
Thank you so much for sending me a letter! I just updated my address, so sorry about that! It's now 275 Mt. Carmel Ave, SA-RES, Hamden, CT 06518 USA. Looking forward to your mail and I will send something along to you as well :)
USA POSTAL RATES (effective 27 JAN 2019): • The First Class Mail letter (1 oz.) rate for postage purchased at the Post Office is increasing by 5¢ going from 50¢ to 55¢. • Each additional ounce for a First Class Mail letter will cost an extra 15¢; a decrease from 21¢. • First Class Mail Flats/Large Envelope rates are not increasing in 2019, remaining at $1.00 (1 oz.), with additional ounces costing 15¢. • Postcard rates are also not increasing in 2019, remaining at 35¢. • Postage printed online (Metered Mail rate) will now be a 5¢ discount compared to the Post Office price with rates increasing to 50¢ in 2019 from 47¢. • Each additional ounce will cost an extra 15¢ in 2019, a decrease from 21¢. • INTERNATIONAL LETTERS & POSTCARDS remain $1.15 per piece.
Thank you for noticing. The "Stencil Craze", as it was known in BalTimOre, really did have solidarity amongst its participants. Most or all of us knew each other & 'had each other's backs'.
Strictly speaking, I am not a collector, but I use materials sent to me, in collages. I carefully paste your stamps on my collages, they will become part of the new art. Dear Bradford, how do you like this idea?
What's this Bradford; another believer in the etiquette of airmail? Can there really be two of us? I have always thought that there was a lot of mileage to be found amongst the other ephemera found on mail besides stamps. Glad to have found a fellow traveller . . .
06.10.19 Dare Mister Bradford,...was pleased to see your commentary regarding "Wild Bill" Hickok as I had often wondered but never asked....& what did you think of the HBO series "Deadwood"??? You must surely have some sort of realistic insight. I'm fairly easily entertained but I thought it was one of the best so called " "westerns" ever. & was surprized to learn how much I enjoyed the foul-mouthed character "Calamity Jane" with what seemed to be "a heart of gold". Happy Trails, Richard Canard
Bradford, I received your Halloween postie today and I love it! And I love Albert Einstein too. He’s a handsome and scary critter! And obviously a very smart kitty! Cats are my favorites. I hope to see more of Albert! Thank you so much! You can expect something from me soon.
Thanks for the Halloween card, Bradford! Please note that I have changed my address. My new address is on my page. Will send something back to you. I have an idea to work one!
