Hi Martha, I have moved house from one end of the country to the other - I have paid for a year's worth of redirection, so no idea why the PO returned the letter.  Makes me wonder what else isn't being forwarded.
Off to update my address now...
(Here it is to save you searching: 89 Bradbury Lane, Hednesford, Cannock WS12 4EN)

  • Uncle Bacon

I've never had any troubles with artistamps on the outside of the envelope.  As long as you have an legible address and legal postage stamp you are good.

  • Julian Foster

    Hey Martha,

It is not me and it is not Alain Delon.

But Jean Marais, French actor and muse of Jean Cocteau

  • Heide Monster

Ah, sorry! I'd blame it on a senior moment, but I refuse to be a that old.

"Congrats to you! You made me lough out loud with the clown mail you send to P. Lerche/FinnBadger. :D Thank you!"

  • Julian Foster

I like the Cocteau drawings too, never seen them before, he would have made a good mail artist.

No that's some miles away from me, its a big place France, which I am looking forward to exploring. I imagine it must be nice down there if you visit every year?

  • Sabrina S

    I meant this one: http://iuoma-network.ning.com/profiles/blogs/clown-mail :)

I just saw the Gollum-May-sketch of Andy Serkis today, so it remembered me on that...

  • Uncle Bacon

Thank you for sending to the Mail Love Not Bombs Exhibit. We must be related because I have a a great nephew from Nigeria that has millions of dollars he wants to ship out of Africa. I told him he should buy as many Amazon gift cards as possible in my name and ship them to me. I have to heard back yet. hahahahaha

you are very welcome. I'm pleased it's having the intended effect of happy making. I like the idea that the view can see what their subconscious mind brings up for them, so if you see a bird that's great, could be a flying fish, or a dolphin or a killer whale, or a ... the list goes on :-)

  • Ilya Semenenko-Basin

I am very grateful to you for the generous gifts that will decorate my room! Thank.

I commented .. don't think it went through.

Paul klee is one of my favorites too. It seems we are/were inspired by Arab village dwellings. Him from Tunisia, me from our friendly Arab village down the road.

HARE Easter from Mail Art Martha

  • Ilya Semenenko-Basin

    Hello, Martha.

You asked me to send a collage. On Easter Day, I made a collage for you and sent it by mail. I made a Christmas card! What a paradox, right? ... But you love paradoxes.

On Easter days, I send you a Christmas collage in the hope that it will come to you before Christmas 2019 comes. In the summer it is so nice to dream of winter. And in the winter so good to dream about summer.

  • Carmen Kennedy

Hi Martha - re: not a crocodile
In the southern USA, we have alligators! Florida is a tropical climate. Sometimes people try to keep alligators as pets but they grow fast. Chance the Snapper was a baby 5-foot long alligator that someone dumped into the lagoon pond in Humboldt Park in Chicago. Police has to fence off the park and two different wildlife rescue people worked over a week to catch the alligator. He is in a zoological park in Florida now, safe from the coming Chicago winter.  :3  Also, alligators are very dangerous like a crocodile.

I made my page pretty, have a look. TTYL <3

    Thank you Martha.

I suddenly remembered my brief trip to London in 2000. It was in may, just like today. We were visiting the Russian Bishop Anthony (Bloom) of Sourozh. We also lived for a couple of weeks in the University city of Cambridge. I have the most beautiful memories!

  • Ilya Semenenko-Basin

Dear Martha, thank You for your appreciation of my collage and for publishing it in the group. I am very pleased!

I must say that I love the winter landscape that is placed on the postage stamp. I recognize the Moscow of my boyhood. I went to school in the half-light, it was getting light, I could see the dome of the Church... bare tree... a string of workers ... snow ... it was just like that. Today, the city has changed, it has been greatly modernized, it has become less proletarian and more cramped.

Most importantly, there is a sky over Moscow that makes me think about flying. I my collages talk about flying into the sky. Thank You, dear Martha.
