Why I am involved in Mail-Art:

I love to send and receive hand painted, hand drawn, printmaking [silkscreen, intaglio, lithography, etc.], artist trading cards (ATCs), zines and hand-bound books. Please include "IUOMA" and your online / screen name so I know who to send back to if it is different from your account name. Please no Sharpie or permanent markers, the ink is unstable and rapidly degrades. Please do not fold original art works. I always try to send out interesting things and my very best work. Please do not rush to mail back to me; I would rather wait a year than get something rushed out of a feeling of obligation.

Please note, Chicago mail delivery is very bad! Wrapping interior art in an envelope with plastic or waxed paper helps. Mail is delivered on foot through the rain, snow and ice storms on foot and sometimes my mail gets wet. Any item over 1/4 inch thick can be destroyed by mass sorting mail machines.

I'm always making art but no one wants my huge paintings... ^.^' At least I have places to send my work now!  Certainly Republik van Patland, where this scribe lives is one of those places where, as today, your art is highly appreciated.  It´s time for this scribe to do homework.  I´ll keep you posted
