Cuan: I don´t remember your name.  Your profile at IUOMA doesn´t display any previous message between us.  To my entire supries the patlander post delivered a handsome southafrican artwork to my celestial mailbox.   wowowowowowowo!!!!!!!!!!!  I´m  a  celestial mail artist born and raised in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland where I write to you from To trade mail art is a celestial promise and a patlander policy.  I´ll will ask our mail art number one master, here in Patland, to produce something just for you in order to answer to...looking forward to some mail from the celestial universe. I´ll keep you posted.

Earthling: This morning a hummingbird on celestial mail service left City of Peace, the capital city of Republik van Patland, a tiny point in the Universe where this scribe comes from. The Postbird faced Planet Earth in a celestial mission. The objective is to deliver a heaven certified mail artwork kindly produced just for you by Cælestis Scriba, today´s  most distinguished celestial mail art master of Patland.

Keep the skies of your vicinity under close observation. Celestial messengers – all of them – tend to show up when nobody expects them. The opportunity is propitious for you to meet, first time ever, a Postbird on heavenly service if you wish to. Have luck! Keep me posted.  Scribe

    Happy Birthday Cuan *!*

  • Amy Irwen

Cuan, received your ATC's today....FABULOUS!!!...posted on ATC Rebel group site...

thank you and hugs for the note...in my next post to you I will give you the simple process I use for tape transferring ....

    hugs *!*

  • Amy Irwen

My Post is on it's way to you...but not the easy transfer method...

    1. pick a magazine/book/newpaper/photo with image/words or background color that goes with what you have in mind...or pick the image and work from that.

    2. use clear packing tape with the picture side up run tape over the image...my tape is usually 2" wide and I tape Vertical (up and down)...usually I only have to us no more than 2 strips. (there is another method for large items, which I don't care for)...make sure the tape is adhered on all side with overflow for applying to project...doesn't matter if there is allot of overflow; that can be trimmed as needed...

    3. run image under lukewarm water to remove the backing paper....what is left is the image which adheres to the tape...any white areas on the picture will be gone and you will get the see through effect...when you trim the image, make sure you leave at least an 1/8th of tape trim to hold to project...If that look interferes with what you are doing, I have trimmed closer and used dbl-sided tape...

    4. now you can play with adding background, words, foreground...however you see the design...You will need to play with the images that you have chosen, each one comes off differently...the quality of the paper and image has allot to do with it...

Once you get the hang of it, it takes no time at all *!*

    Happiest of Birthdays, Cuan!

  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Cuan Thank you so much for the very profound and thoughtful mail art you sent me. Recently. I love your work--I could simply gaze at it (and I do). I thought I had thanked you already but I checked and could not find my note to you, so, here are my very deep thanks for the "field of hesitations, black holes and possibilities...."
  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Cuan, your Mail Art has been blogged!

Thank you very, very much, Cuan, for your wonderful mail art, beautiful birds!
They have traveled a long time, but finally landed safely in my mailbox today. I'll scan and post them in my RWA blog later (probably coming weekend). So beautiful, thank you!!!
  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Dear Cuan -- I had surgery yesterday (very successfully) and arrived back home today to find you fabulous mail art package! I'm so glad your's was the first thing I received upon coming home. As I've said before, your work is profound and rewards serious attention. I enjoy all the different sizes and materials very much. And, I know (because I Googled it) that the poem is an Elton John reference, but did you write it? I like it very much -- I can't rhyme worth squat. anyway, gonna go start lying on the couch, which I expect to be my chief occupation for the next couple of weeks. Thanks again!
  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Cuan, I'm always thrilled to see an envelope from you in my mailbox. Thank you for the wonderful mail art. I'll blog it soon so everyone can see all the terrific pieces you sent.

  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Cuan, you are an amazing mail artist. Thank you for this big batch of ATC's and postcards. As always, your work is incredibly layered and deep -- I could look at it forever. I especially love the card that had a "real" letter on it that you half covered over with your work. Layers and layers. Thanks again! You inspire me.

  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Cuan, the term "red letter day" was invented for days when I get mail art from you. Thank you so much for the big wonderful batch of mail art: ATC's and altered PC's. The piece with the Kafka quote is especially gorgeous. I really don't know how you do it. Your handmade envelope is also really cool! Thank you again for the Pigeon Post!
  • Patricio - The Celestial Scribe

Your certificate of participation in the mail art call Literature and Mail Art will be on its way to you tomorrow.  Thank you very much for being with us.

  • Uta Richter

Great! My snail mail with 2 ATCs is on the way!
