Home three days and itching to get into my studio. It'll be a bit before I can but me and my new hip are getting along just fine. Bicycle and other mail art has arrived today. Thanks so much. I'll have lots to scan and post, looking forward to the day I can do that. Excitement is mounting here in Richmond as the UCI world bike races get closer to happening. I'm excited that we'll have lots of mail art to display. Peace

    Hi Mim,

I have an old lap top so the only way I can send photos is via the email attachment.  I sent 7 photos last Tuesday (7 emails) as requested but have no idea if they were received and no images appear on "my page" yet.  What is the normal time frame?  I requested one photo be my home page photo and the others were samples of my mail art.  Thanks for your help.

    Hi Mim,

Thanks so much for the cute collaborative post card with your 2 year old grand daughter, Zinn.  Let her know I love her white bunny sticker and all the colorful birds and letters.  Glad to see that you are exposing her to mail art and all the fun so early in life.

This is a mentor question Mim -- I have a million of them, but I'll stick with just one for now. How do you store all the art you receive? I'm beginning to see it could be a problem. I can only display so many at a time. Do you put them in plastic sleeves in notebooks, boxes, file folders? Storage space of course is at a premium. Thanks for mentoring.

It took about 7 days, which isn't surprising. Sylva is not terribly far off the beaten path but things take time to happen around these parts.

OH No, this guy is moving up.  He purchased an apartment now in the 6eme.  And funny enough this Friday he may be hitting his Top.  This Friday he is performing at the l'Olympia in Paris for one night.  I don't know if you know the l'Olympia, but it's the place where all international stars want to perform at least once in their lives.

And what you really don't know is that you can rent it for one night, and hope your ticket sales covers the cost.  I just saw the tickets on sale for -54%.  So he hasn't filled it, but it's the fact that he can now put it on his C.V.  and the prestige that goes with it.

Then again we could ask Chuck to finance our Mail Art Show, and play the l'Olympia ourselves.  There's surely a profit to be made.

PS: and our favourite CD now is Diana Krall live at the l'Olympia which we discovered when we were in Porto.

PS:  Happy my mail art arrived.  Now the famous dilemma, to use or not to use uncancelled stamps.

    Hey Mim,

I love the postcard! Thanks so much! The Midwest is a cold, gloomy place right now. But, I'll be traveling to New Orleans in a few weeks, where live is warm and sunny, and the Mardi Gras season is in full swing!

Mim--I'm glad that my mail art was used for a good cause!

  • Carmela Rizzuto

Hi Mim, thank you for your recent mail art. It has been posted. I think that the card expressed the quote very well--I'm a fan of watercolor crayon, too.

I enjoyed perusing your blog--and yes, your face series is special!

I had a little scrambler piece fall off of an envelope as I was cutting it open, and I thought, "Yes, now I have to use this!"

Also, I got your postcard today. Thank you! I didn't realize postcards could be so thick. I keep asking questions at the post office, and they're always so matter-of-fact, as though there are no restrictions. But every now and then they'll bust out a ruler or something. I'm learning as I go :D

And how old are we that we remember placing nails into WOODEN spools that mama

had finished the thread? And then we sat for many quiet hours "knitting" snakes and

    other fun things :-)

Ah, yes, Mim...I remember it well :-)

    Have fun with grandgal!

( my wooden spool takes only thin string, hole is small...

Heleen sent a nice LARGE plastic thingie)
