Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I think this is a wonderful way to empower people in the creative process. Creativity is the birthright of all humans. Nothing makes me sadder than to hear someone say, "Oh, I'm not creative, I can't do art."

    Welcome to the IUOMA!

  • Ruud Janssen

The structure is simple, there are just a lot of groups, members and discussions. Once you see the basic structure you will be able to find lots of details...... Enjoy!

Julia: let´s start our empowerment process and in order to do so, I would like to friendly welcome you to The Eternal Network. A perfect "empower start " here is mail-art exchange. I would like to be the other end when you decide is the right time for you to start doing it.  If that’s the case your envelope should read as follows:

    The Celestial Scribe
    Caixa Postal, 24827
    Curitiba-PR
    80510-970
    Brazil

II look forward to see your piece on my mailbox.  Yes!, I will do my homework after receiving yours.  That’s a celestial promise.  I´m Patricio,  The Celestial Scribe and Envelope Provider.

Julia, time is the least available commodity, but at the same time, it´s a significative element of mail art.  Compared to the time we will be dead, the time it will take for your artwork to take off to Brazil is like a drop in the ocean.  Take all the time you need to do your part.

    Hi Julia

Your comment that people said they couldn't do art struck a chord with me.When I sent funny, personal mail art to friends 20 years ago I got the response "You have too much time on your hands" from most people. I'm  so glad to have found this group recently, please add my address to your students' mail art lists, I have years of mail art to catch up on!!

  • Patricio - The Celestial Scribe

    :-))))))

  • The Mailmonster

Oh great! I can't wait to find it in my mailbox and thank you for accepting me as a friend. I'll get something ready for you asap ;)

  • vizma bruns

Hi Julia! Sent you a little thing, if you can't wait to get it, have a looksee at my profile photos!! It'll probably take ages! I haven't gotten any mail art yet...I'm so far from mail artists!!

  • vizma bruns

Thanks for cheering me up, Julia! I'm looking into speeding up those snails...motorize their rowboats, give them coffee injections, what do you think? Can't wait to get your mail/s!

  • vizma bruns

Well whadya know...I start whinging and suddenly 5 letters arrive!! Thanks for your piece, it has a brown onion dye quality to it. How is it done? Keep on drummin!

  • vizma bruns

It's so beautiful, thanks again..can't wait to try that!

  • vizma bruns

Glad it made you laugh, I laughed the whole time I was making it! Oh yeah, I gave the snails some speed to get them on their merry way. Not that I endorse such things!!

  • The Mailmonster

Hi Julia! I received your MailArt card a couple days ago. I really like the "running-in-circles-circle"; it's a very cool idea! There's also something on it's way to you and I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I enjoyed yours.

  • Kerri Pullo

HI! I received you beautiful flower mail art! I have already placed it out with the holiday decorations!!

  • The Mailmonster

I'm glad you liked the card and feel honored that you will be showing it to your students. Creating it was a lot of fun too, because I rediscovered my dad's technical pens. In order to get them to work again I cleaned them and then went all over town to get new ink. So it was a great adventure all the way around. We should definitely exchange more Mail Art in the future! Take care, Sarah.

  • Terry Reid

Julia, please pass it on to your friends   http://iuoma-network.ning.com/events/send-to-the-secret-exchange
