Would anyone like to be part of a add and pass book? I have a book I started but it would be better to have others contribute. I was thinking I would make a list of whoever wants to participate and we could pass it around. It's an 8 page book so I think at least 8 people would need to participate. But there is a front and back so if just depends on how much space everyone would like. Message me and I will compile the addresses. Thanks
Still looking for others to participate in an add and pass book. I have 2 people so far and would love to have 2 to 4 more. Please message me if you are interested. I will provide packaging and some stamps for its travels. Thanks!
just who came up with the word, 'Assembling'? Richard Kostelanetz? Who did the 1st collaborative book in this format? From all I can see, the 1st was done by Dana Atchley, but I do not remember him using the word, 'Assembling'. Maybe Richard C remembers.

The now legendary Asemics 16 collaborative mail art book project had headquarters right here in this group and in the asemics group!
Many members who remain were participants and we share fond memories.
I'm not here to report Asemics 16 is starting a new edition. But Cheryl Penn - who made it all possible - is doing some A 16 re-documentation from her collection. (She's re-issued my intros so sorry for the SSP Shameless Self-Promotion).
You might want to check this out and we'll see if she does more. Extraordinary work came from that project that shouldn't be forgotten:

I have an idea for a collaborative mail art project that I hope others will be interested in: It is a small group round-robin. Different from Add&Pass in that each collaborative group would have no more than 4 people and there would be some unifying aspect--a theme (e.g., imaginary animals, Winter, dreams, etc.), a format (e.g., book, collage, mixed media, etc.), a color, or anything else that would give the project some unity. It may work best if the members of the group are set before the project starts and decide on the unifying aspect together, but it could also be one person suggesting the unifier and others joining. Person 1 does a start piece and sends it to Person 2, who works on it and sends it to Person 3, etc. After the last person does their work it goes back to Person 1, and it can go around again (and again...), or end at that point.
I have some ideas for projects but would like to hear from other Mail Artists who are interested and we can discuss how to proceed.
I love a small group round robin like this, Susan. Please count me in for books and I'm happy to hear your ideas. I like it when each person sends a starter so there are four books in motion at the same time. Each book can have its own 'theme' and everyone ends up with a book at the end.
Erin and Susan, I will send you an e-mail in a few minutes, just so you have a contact point for me other than my mailing address. Discussion might be easier then (especially because I still can't send messages on the ning).
