What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

Just a quick heads up - Sometime in the last week we published our 10,000th post on Mailart365! I am reeling. Great work team!

I'm definitely going to carry on numbering. I'm in 2 minds about what system I'll use though. I think 365.2 will make me think more about making it daily, but continuing to number will be a more relaxed process. What do you think?

After 365.1 I numbered my mail art until I got to 1000 (http://flic.kr/s/aHsjATx1Dw) Then I made some un-numbered. Then I started 365.2 numbering from "1" again. Crazy! But good.

I have them on Flickr. 365.1 - http://flic.kr/s/aHsjsW3hKW

and 365.2 - http://flic.kr/s/aHsjBk42PY

Andy, it is nice to take a break….. but I find I missed it. Looking forward to reconnecting with all of you. You folks that are in the 1000's of pieces of mail art, Mim, Katerina, Angie and Dewi are always so inspiring. Both in the number of pieces you do and the art itself.

Go, Andy! Only 30 more to go? For the New Year you will celebrate 365!!! Not to be sad...make, make, make and then after #365...

make #366, and then #367...it can go easier  until 1001 and BEYOND!

I developed from "Mail art 365' the need to "list".

Now I am way beyond 2000 probably, I no longer number,

but I do keep a list,( finally!) of who has sent me,

and thus, who I have sent to. Mine is monthly written down on

paper, not computer tally....

Wow, Angie, a very nice system of numbering (do you work in a library :-)

Wow Laura it will be great to have you doing a 365.2! I expect I'll be done by the end of this year and I think I'll need a break, but who knows...I may be there too. Wonder if JJ would be up for a 365.2...

Great news Laura! 365 was huge and still fires me up! I am still here (dipping in and reminding you) happy to send and receive with you all too!

Yay, Laura P, can't wait to see you again!

Andy, I agree with you and Mim, nearing the end of 365 was sad. It felt good to reach the goal but sad that it was coming to an end. I find I miss it and feel I need the commitment of the 365 group to keep up with as Mim says "the daily practice". I have not made much mail art since I completed the project. I also miss the chatter of the group members. So I'm going to start 365.2 after the first of the year. I hope you reconnect with the group and the new members. See you in 2013, Laura
