What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

You just do whatever comes into your purview, David takes photos of what he spots on walks. Personally I am going with sketches of people that I spy on my walks. Not looking forward to N but have M,O,I and A already in the brain vault.

I love the alpha-beta-palooza title McFloozy!

Keira, I am going to break my style for the rest of January, leaving a little of the old style behind and see if I can push my boundries into happy accidents or wondrous disasters ;-) No drawing that looked last month is my rule for the next twenty works.

I'm starting my alphabet theme in January... but could think of another way to do it for February!
Comment by McFloozy on January 2, 2011 at 3:29pm

Lovely idea, and what fun! I will join the Feb alpha-beta-palooza, beginning with exclamation, and ending with a comma (not to be confused with a coma). Oh what a difference an 'm' can make!

Anyhoo, do they have to be photos from urban environment, or (as usual), can we just do whatever the heck comes to the table?

Great suggestion! Thanks

I'm in on the February Alpa Beta. I will do 28 days of food/beverage related cards featuring the 26 letters, and will begin with an exclamation and end with a comma.

Thank you for the challenge suggestion, Dewi!

Yes, Dewi, I am in agreement for February = alpha-beta. January is still filled with New Year's greetings and answering some mail art calls, but February will be a letter-a-day challenge. I will use the Greek alphabet, 24 letters only but there are additional "combinations" that make other letter sounds (mp=B, nt=D,tz=J...), so 28 days will be fine for 28 Greek letter-art cards.

February 365 Challenge ... David Berube is doing an Urban Alphabet (photos of each letter of the alphabet from NYC signs ) with wonderous abandon so I am inspired to turn our shortest month into a challenge. One theme, 28 days ... 26 letters ( no particular order ), beginning with an exclaimation mark and ending with a comma.

Anybody interested?

Thanks Andy, without the thumbnails I miss a few on my little iphone.

PS I love the concept of hypercreative but I have to be honest, without my parents I would have never found a good outlet for my hyperness/dyslexia. High School art classes were killer in my day and I lacked the focus to walk any kind of formal education path beyond that.

Thankfully there is Mail Art!

HyperCreative. Yeah. I like that. Much better than HyperActive.

It is like fireworks going off all the time... a constant celebration. Glad to find like-minded folk having fun.

Phew I'm glad I'm not the only one here that has ADHD Boo. I wrote a piece a whille back on ADHD and wonder how many creatives we've lost to Ritalin. I bet that quite a few of us on IUOMA and probably on MA365 have some sort of hypercreative mind

No call on partial or full nudity - heck Paula is sticking nudes up every day!

No censorship, no jury no return etc! This is mailart do whatever you like Dewi, just do an average of 1 a day and have fun!
