Even though it makes sense that we can look on each others profiles, you may want to add your address here and any blogs or other accounts you want highlighted. This way it's in a closed environment and we all get to share.

What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

I'm here Paula! I think the end of Jan and the start of Feb has people preoccupied with the busyness of life! I know I am one of them! I am also guilty of being a procrastinator (horrible I know) well not so much as a procrastinator but someone who starts one thing and then is captivated by another project and so on and so on....plus its getting nice here in MN, I can't concentrate.   : )

I am probably the worst for weaving in and out, what with signing people up and that sort of thing, but the inspiration of watching it all unfold is a real rush. Like you say Katerina, there are some who no longer take part who joined early on too. I'm ever the optimist and leave the door open. There's plenty of space for everyone!

If we ever reach 100 people (I like that there is an upper limit - I like to know everyones name and style) then I'll decide what to do, but I don't want to play policeman. At the end of the day, I'm happy if we pace ourselves and make 365 pieces. If we make them in a year that is prizeworthy (whatever that means - anyone have any ideas?) and if it takes 5 years, then so be it. I can see myself limping in a month or so late, but hey!

I weave in and out a bit. I sometimes make things in spurts, when I get my 'stuff' in order and in a convenient space. Another spurt on the way. Followed by a head cold, which will derail me for a few days.

I love seeing what everyone is making. It is creative inspiration. Thanks!

I see that there are many newbies joining and if there are another 40 places left at the "365" blog, then perhaps more will come and be active. The problem I am having is that I originally wanted to send a mail art to each of the "365"ers, but many of them have "disappeared" and are not participating. So now I am arranging my mailing list by "theme" and projects, and sending to those who are in those projects. Of course, like with the Valentine mailing, many in that group are also "365"ers. But others may not be in my mailing until late spring and summer... then again, there are many months ahead, so eventually ALL "365"ers may get mail art by Dec.1, 2011. Time will tell!

Hi Mim - the blogs here in the group are just an automatic RSS feed. It sometimes lags a little behind.

I know what you mean Paula - I was going to ask how the group felt about this - We now have nearly 60 people creating but people are dropping off as well as joining up. I do miss some of the early starters though and I think that the new folk are keeping the energy levels up!

The limit is 100 writers on the blog, and I am filtering to make sure only the slightly unbalanced folk can join us. I hope this works.

"It's easy to confuse year-long projects with a demanding taskmaster rather than a friend." I think that is a quote I will be refering to many times in the next year Boo.

I like that. I realise there are only a handful of people who actually post everyday. I think the best way to keep those that don't in the loop is to send them mail. There's nothing so motivating as receiving!
