What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

Well stated!.  Make it for yourself.  Sometimes people like it and sometimes not.

no feelings have been hurt at all...

my stuff does not appeal to most & thats cool cause it is really more just for me anyway....

I rarely send my mailart but I do make it everyday

Also - the reactions are only positive ones as I dont think anything negative should be written without your name attached...

This blog has actually run itself pretty much after everyone figured out how to use it - Easy ... but thanks

Ok, Thanks for explaining your view, Camel.  I understand now where you are coming from and the comments are staying.

From my perspective, the check off boxes take away from the personal experience.  A personal comment, even a brief one, is more meaningful to me than a tally.  People are more accountible and thoughtful "usually" when they put their name to it.  It takes time to make a comment and some people don't have the time or want to bother.  I'll just keep on with the comments.

Personally, I try to never leave a comment that would make a person feel bad.  If I am ever an offender, I would appreciate you letting me know.  I have pretty thick skin when it comes to my artistic expression.

I'm sorry that you have had some past experiences that hurt your feelings.  Support is important and I know you a a big contributer to the success of the group.  Thanks for all you do to keep our blog running.

here is my opinion....

We have almost 3000 posts on the blog & any one day can produce as many as 30 posts...

I personally don't make comments on very many...BUT I like to give the poster some kind of feedback for support purposes...

I think it helps to keep the art ball rolling..

I personally have 119 posts & comments on 20 or so which I found to be disheartening sometimes.

I just felt like it is for the quick feedback for something you just may not add a comment to.

So what is the deal with the new reactions boxes?  I really don't care for them in blogs and ignore them.  What's wrong with leaving a comment that is more personal?  It makes it feel like it is a contest of some sort and it isn't; is it?  Or am I just out of touch....

Oh, Mim, I visited the Pompidou years ago and wish I were there now!

Hello all, am @ centre Pompidou in Paris & managed to get WiFi. Have missed reading the blog & posting as I'm rarely on-line. However, I'm making mail art daily. Today was especially good, I made 2! Miss you, see you in the mail.
