I love the way the MA365 helps me keep a journal of sorts. I've never been good at journaling for more than a month or two at time. Here we are, four months into this project, and I have a lovely journal with memories, ideas, random thoughts.

Just read the interesting discussion about comments and reaction notes for our mail art posts at blogger. Unfortunately I cannot comment there as I no longer have an account with blogger, and after a spam-virus run-in, I have no intention of doing so. I always will comment and thank a 365er sender and I will comment if I see art that attracts my attention posted here at our IUOMA group. But I tend to comment through a personal message at his or her IUOMA page. Seeing the mail art that others are doing is very encouraging and helpful. It is a good feeling to know that so many are "working" along with you during these 365 days.

I continue making mail art for 365 days and on December 1, 2011, there should be 365 (plus doubles) posted at blogger. Andy is kind enough to do that for me, and for the present there is a pause with my posts (not with my mail art making) until Andy returns at the end of April. Those posts will be an excellent record of the mail art done in 365 days...a personal visual diary, open for others to see, but a visual account for me as well.

JJ had a great suggestion for following your own post...I personally use a different system because I already get way to much e-mail administering the "Many Worlds of Andy" :
I try to post everyday - so i am looking at the blog edit page anyway...

I've always organizing my ephemera by theme ... food, animals, people, architecture, etc ... but seems like by color could be very useful. Might be a rainy day project. 

 

At the moment, I have so many rainy day projects planned that I should consider building an ark 'cause if we do have that many rainy days, I'm going to need it.

Some of us joined late and are still catching up.  I'll have a little time this weekend.  I  really need a whole day though, to make a super mess.

 

I did organize my clippings last week, by color family.  Some one on the net did that and claims it helps.  So far it has.  The most time consuming part, for me at least, is the computer part, scanning, adding to the blog, etc.  But I am making myself do it. 

 

In the process I have learned to scan photos and I am exposed to new ideas daily.  Honestly though, this it is easlier than entering an art show and far less stressful!  It is lots of fun.

I really love hearing all your thoughts on this subject. Personally, I like comments, making them and receiving them but it's just an aside. Before the IUOMA, the only person who saw your MA was the person you sent it to and that was fine with me. The ultimate comment is one that is posted back to you in the mail! I often don't have the time to even look at every post like I did in the early days, much less make a comment on them. I make comments when I can or when something moves me to.

I try to read comments left for me but sometimes, I forget. Thank you for leaving them, the encouragement is good and motivating. I suppose one of the functions of the comments is that it reminds you that people are seeing them and honestly, that is why I joined this group because it holds me accountable. I know that if you all are watching, I'd better get my rear in gear and produce one a day! So, thanks for keeping me honest.

And Robayre, after you publish your post you can click on a  thing at the bottom that says "subscribe by email" that means any comments made will be emailed to you.

 

Also, sorry I posted #117 twice. I was having a bad internet day and couldn't see that it was published, so stupidly just did the whole thing over again. Is there a way to delete a whole post in case I ever do that again?

Wow!  Looks like a lively discussion was taking place last night/this AM. Here is my position....  I don't critique anyone's work and love to leave encouraging comments.  Only truthful ones and I love the variety of work in this group. 

 

It's kind of like a journal, never bound, shared with others, and in return I may get something from you.  One of the members in one of my other groups said she likes the "no boundries" aspect of mail art.

 

Remember it's make a piece of mail art for 365 days.  Andy did say there are no rules.  Ok...getting ready to hop over to the 365 and see what's up this AM.

I agree with Merdoc, don't let that art go to waste! Send it over here :)

Camel, that made me sad to hear that you aren't sending out all of your artwork.

And since we are speaking of comments, I'll usually leave comments here or there a few times a week when I'm catching up, but I've actually forgotten many times to check my own cards to see if people left comments. Is there a way to get notifications when people leave comments on your posts?
