Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

I just posted my first piece of Mail Art on our blog since forever, it seems. I'm just starting with today's card, #133. It's part of a group of 12 (yes, you heard right, TWELVE) to go out today, commemerating the 50th anniversary of the first man in space. I'll post the rest on my mim4art blog as well as the Mail Art I made on my trip. I'll add to our flickr set, but, not to worry, I won't clog up this blog with all my images. (smiling) I'm back!

Too funny Sue, a good percentage of the art I send takes side trips, especially the nudes ;-), except they never seem to
make it all the way. Congrats and just for being good sports I can send your neighbour's a card if they would like!

What a great surprise last night!  A card from Dewi appeared at my door.  Apparently the postman delivered the card to the wrong house.  Just before bedtime there was a knock at the door and a neighbor broght it over.  My husband answered the door and promplty called upstaits to me:  Wow!  You have a great piece of mailart, from someone in Canada!  So, Dewi has acquired another fan!

Thank you, Dewi,  I don't know how long the neighbor had it, but I have it now!  I love it and the great Canadian stamp.  Toronto is a wonderful city and I have many fond memories, of my visits there.

Gabby and Boo have inspired me to pull out my sewing machine today.  Many years ago, I used to sew a lot.  When the old machine died; I didn't bother to replace it.  I did acquire a new machine a couple of years ago and it is used so infrequently, I have to read the instructions each time I use it.  LOL  Sooo, first thing is to find a flat surface that is free and go from there.  Sewing is exciting though and it's the first thing on my agenda - today.  The other prep work was done last night.  Looking forward to a new technique.

Happy Mim is home.  Happy Boo's week is starting off better than the last.  Now I will hop over to the 365, finish my coffee, drag out my machine and get to work.  Have a great day making mail art!  BTW, Boo, you have a great blog!

Also: I LOVE the ghost girls. Elegant and just the right bit of creepy.

Mim, thank you for your note; for inexplicable reasons, I can't reply to comments. And thank you, McFloozy, for the reminder to breathe. Funny how you forget. And Paula, what you endured in 2009 -- oh, how terribly sad. My sister died in 2003, and that was horrid enough. Sometimes life just clobbers you; if only it were a guarantee that the next few months will be peaceful and relaxing. Today is better; Michael came home and now he and Chihuahua are hanging out, both on painkillers, telling each other knock knock jokes or something.

Gabby ... I can watch the Pirates games from my office window. When they get a homerun, we can see the fireworks (even in the daytime). Sadly ... we don't often see fireworks.

Still not in home time zone, but am managing to make daily M.A. Off to post office to buy stamps. I'm hoping by Thursday to be back on EDT. I have sooo many photos to look at, including Mail Art that I did on the trip.

Dear McFloozy,

I never would have guessed!  Totally understand the code names.  Guess I need to look for a decoder on Ebay or Etsy!

HI Sue,

Box 652 is me. McFloozy. Guess I should put that somewhere. I have too many code names... My kids make them up for me.

Boo - I hope things start to pick up for you soon. May there be a moment of sunshine, and a few deep cleansing breaths in your day today.

Sue (aka McFloozy, aka Box652)
