Even though it makes sense that we can look on each others profiles, you may want to add your address here and any blogs or other accounts you want highlighted. This way it's in a closed environment and we all get to share.

What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

@superhero, If you don't want to do it yourself, ask Eduardo Cardoso where he got his.  It's awesome!

@ Paula,  Good things are gettting back to normal for you.  Sunny & dry here on  the EC.  Lunched outside restaurant, no more than an 1 1/2 tops and now have my first sun burn of the season.  no hat, no sunscreen = stupidity!

Sue, all the roads I need are open. But there's still a lot closed. River's dropping slowly!

@andy: i would have loved to do schoolswaps, but i've already arranged to do mail art for the parents. these are just kindergarteners and first/second graders and it's end of the year, so they like to do special stuff for the families. i thought mail art for parents seemed good. ;-)

i plan to show them the art we've received and try to talk about it a little.

i'm a bit more nervous talking to a class of kids than adults, i don't know why.

perhaps it's remembering last fall when they all just learned that the word penis was funny and were shouting loudly across the lawn at me, calling me alternately a penishead and a chickenhead. :-/

i <3 kids!

@ Gabby, I knew it!  Just lovely.  ;-)

@Paula,  Boots from the hardware store (if there are any left)!  Taylor's Do It & Ace usually carry them.  A little Terro for the ants.  Your town will probablly spray for the mosquitoes.  Can you get about now or have the roads dried off?

I want a t-shirt that says: I survived the flood of 2011 (and hope to survive the accompanying snakes, ants, & mosquitoes)!

Starting to relate well to Yul Brynner in The Ten Commandments -- just one plague after another!!!!!!!!! LOL!

Two floodgates reopened -- one to go! Where's the bug spray?

Oh that's great Superhero! When I've run mailart sessions, I've started by having them look at the mailart I have received and commenting on the pieces, then picking a piece out to reply to. That usually works pretty well.

Also, if you need anyone to send to, check out my new site at www.schoolswaps.net. It's still being made but hopefully we should be able to find you someone to swap with
