Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

I made a piece of mailart today! I know i know, for a guy who runs Mailart365 you'd expect I'd be making a piece every day, but real life sucks doesn't it!

I sent a map postcard to a professor at Oxford university. I may well end up working with him on my next schoolswaps project! I'm working on getting the next big swap together, and I hope to work hand in hand with the UK Geographical Association on it. I'll keep you posted as ever! I'm going postcard crazy here!

Ha, Ha, it's ok as long as we don't eat the stuff....right?  OMG, I miss the old , dusty, art stores.  At least I still have the hardware and thrift stores!  I can't wait to go to San Diego, this fall, where there a great old, funky store and a Blick as well.

Lucky me!  A card from Mim's abstract expressionist, series -"Paula in the Colonial garb" and a very cheerful "Christmas In July" card from Mary-Alice!  Maab, your card is total fun!  What a score!  A double M or WAIT.... its's a tripple M score.  Mim, Maab, Monday!  A great day anyway!  Thank you ladies.

Oh,yes...drooling time in Paris! I shall cross Pont du Carousel after a morning visit at the Louvre and be right there to drool over pencils...and handmade papers...oh, my!

Excellent observation - I've been known to drool over pencils, ink, tubes of paint, and all sorts of other items in real art supply shops, like Sennelier.

I'm sure this only happens in art circles. Drooling over a pencil! Love it!

The brand is LYRA.  We got it at Sennelier in Paris, and we were pretty surprised to find a 9B, having never seen one before. VERY soft and water soluble.
