What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

So I discovered this weekend Laura! The hours just disappeared as I put those beads on!

Glad you guys are OK!

Your necklace is great, very pretty, I'm sure Elena loved it. I'm a beader but I do more what they call, off loom beading, that involves different stitches. Watch out beading can be very addicting!

Hey Prettylily they are indeed. We used Polymer clay. It was the first time I've used that stuff and it won't be the last. First time I've used beads too to be honest. Didn't know how much fun it could be - I've been missing out!

By the way, re: the rioting in London, we are both fine. Luckily we're not in either Brixton, Tottenham  or Enfield. I will try and keep you all posted through the unrest

Turquoise!  My favorite color.  Did you by any chance snag any interesting beads during your honeymoon travels?  I did not know you had so many talents, Andy. Just guessing, but are the leaves the clay part?

Ok, gals, we are talking the Andrews sisters recording  and having this song as No.1 hit in 1945!!! Weeeee! But it was soooo"calipso" in the 60's!

My folks had a record with that song; my sister and I would sing the first stanza but don't think we ever heard the second, which is funny bec my dad was stationed in Trinidad during the war.

Like the Andrew sisters, 'would love to be at your party, Jen!

...Drinkin' rum and Coca-Cola,
Go down Point Koomahnah,
Both mother and daughter,
Workin' for the Yankee dollar...

Since the Yankee come to Trinidad,
They got the young girls all goin' mad,
Young girls say they treat 'em nice,
Make Trinidad like paradise.

Drinkin' rum and Coca-Cola,
Go down Point Koomahnah,
Both mother and daughter,
Workin' for the Yankee dollar!

;-)
