What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

Thanks Mabb. Must be just me. Is it black on yellow above for Katerinas 275?

Andy, I only see the usual black on yellow....

Has anyone else noticed that some of the blog posts are black text on a white background? I'm not sure how that happened but am looking into it.

I suspect these are the ones sent in by email. Can anyone confirm this

@Prettylily of course you have my permission to use any images on my gallery! They're not all my own photos (obviously I was in the costume at the time) but I'm sure it should be ok

My fish miss hearing stories about my mailart... :P  ~~people talk to their cats, right???~~~

Actually, I had a couple of swaps due while the post office had no power...The horror! Mailart is traveling again from Southeastern MA.

That's wonderful, Mandy - especially for your dear fish!  :)  (Don't tell them about Katia, the storm forming off the nw coast of Africa, which MAY visit us!)

I know I should be posting about mail art;  let's say that we have to watch the weather so that we know we can get to the post office, okay?!?

Maab, Yep!

Andy, I will take a look soon at your carnival pictures.  As soon as I get my projects behind me, caught up on my mail art, I would love to do a pastel painting of your costume.  I must warn you I do not paint in a photo realistic style, but I love costumes and figures.  The photo you showed is a nice composition.  I'll let you know when I check them out and choose one, so I can get your permission to use it as a reference.  Of course I would have to give it to you.  But I may want to enter it in a show, if it works out.  I'll see.  Thanks for the link to the gallery.

@Poison,  You remind me of my Dad.  His mother had a conference with his teacher when he was in elementary school because he refused to read fiction!  That was a long time ago too.  Back when there was lots of really good fiction to read.  The book he was reading when he died 20 years ago was Joseph Campbell's Power Of Myth.  I like fiction but I am picky about what I read.  Most of the books my Dad read were too deep for me.  Then he was an engineer and knew how to do math too!  Ha, ha, you guys!

Thanks all! Nothing like a nice carnival to get me moving! Saying that though, I'm as sore as hell. Carrying 15ft of wings for a whole day while dancing drunk on rum isn't a recipe for good healthy muscles let me tell you!

As for more pics, they can be found in my Flickr gallery - I'll be adding more as I work my way back through 9 years of carnival!

@Prettylily I'd love to see this picture! Elena has just learnt to paint this weekend, so you'll see those on 365 soon, but it may be too early to ask her to paint my costume!

& my dorkness comes out....
My favrite book is "Das Capital" with "The Prince" coming in a close second.

VIVA LA SOCIALISTA!!!

Of course my bookcases are filled with glorious textbooks & books on religion.

If it is fiction, i probably have not read it ....although I have read many religious cannons...
