Actually, Martha, it is an ancient Macedonian symbol found on the shields of Alexander the Great's warriors and in the wall paintings of their tombs.But it does look like the seed "star" of a cut apple :-)

I think the bigger circle hints at the pattern found in an apple when cut horizontally, wether intentionally or not

Circles sent by Lara Favaro on 15 sept from Italy. Received today!! Included was a mail art call with a deadline of 30 Sept. oh no missed the deadline! Beautiful circles
