BANANAS

AKA Anna Banana Appreciation Band (ABAB)

The theme is Bananas & Anna Banana.  Many of our members are « bananas » themselves, others are »fruity », a few are « nutty », and one is completely « ape ».
If you are none of these, don’t worry we can help you with specially designed projects and exams for your progress to the banana status you deserve.
We will also explore the many works of Anna Banana as we give appreciation for involvement in Mail Art & "Art".
PS I you are « crackers » or « loony », this group may not be for you.
Also: see link and fill in the form and return it to Anna Banana!

The Banana Hanger has slightly changed in appearance, 'cos every time I eat a banana that has a sticker I add the latter to the hanger.

Well I'm back to check in on the Bananas.  Ah I see that Val received the banana hanger.

Katerina, don't be shy, mail & run.

Great banana hanger! And more amazing that it came in the French Poste...just as is! But then again, Dean is charmed. gI'm afraid the Greek Taxidromeio is not so dedicated to delivery ANY type of mail as long as it has a readable address on it :-( Although, I have been considering, lately, to just try a few "found objects" that were beached near the seaside shack. However, I shall wait patiently until Master Dean returns from his French Riviera travels!

Yep, it came in 2 parts, the second with the hook already on it, and all I had to do was to screw the two bits together (with screws provided by Dean). I talked to Dean about his 'mailing philosophy' for this  a couple of days ago, and he said that he just put some postage stamps on each bit and put them in the post. La Poste has quite strict regulations about what can and cannot be posted, in what type of packages, etc, but Dean succesfully ignores all of this bureaucratic stuff, and I've got some fantastic things from him -- including slices of cheese, sunglasses, pieces of slate, mobile phone batteries, shoes, etc. Val

Wow, that is really something. So the two parts went through the mail unboxed or anything. Did the vertical part have the hook on it already when it arrived to you?

Bonjour Banana People Everywhere!

Banana Master Dean is alive and well. He is visiting his Banana plantations in the South of France. There is no internet there, but In spoke to him on the phone last night, and he asked me to pass on his Banana Greetings to y'all.

Here are some photos of Dean's Amazing Banana Bunch Hanger (patent applied for) that he sent me recently. It arrived in 2 parts that i then had to screw together.

The Hanger has pride of place in my kitchen.

Val

Banana guards are a must if you go out walking and don't want a surprise after your lunch.  Yes, everyone should have one.  I wish I had two!

Is it a banana or not?  It's yellow and has a photo of the famous "E" (does that what he looks like?), but does that make it a banana?

No, but I just recieved this from Erni.  It includes a CD case and if you peep through the edge, you can see that there is actually a CD in there.

Well it drove me bananas trying to open the case, and then found out later that the case is glued shut.  39 minutes of Bliss will have to wait.

Erni has titled this one: Meaningless Guggenheim 2012.  I know that he has recently completed this one because it was still warm when it arrived... and the candy was still within its sell by date.

Thank you Erni & yes we should meet up someday at the Guggenheim BilBao.  That would be a hoot!
