Perhaps it was the Ancient Fates that deemed it necessary for Cheryl to create "L", a labor of Love, and we are all the richer for it. The LOSS begins with thwarted Love, and not a Horse. An ancient map marks the spot of Lost Londelozi...or is it another ancient site?

The story of thwarted love: She was of exquisite beauty....

He was seeeking true love and Happy ever Afters.

We are guided to their ancient city...from A to H we are guided to important sites of the story,

but....let us switch to technicolor and red tiled roofs, marble temples, ancient walkways:

A = the place of the Migrating Red Thread and B = The Meeting of the Tortoise,

there, just behind the Ancient Agora...

Out of the Agora stalls and stoa and into the glaring sunlight, we follow C = the Path of the Tortoise, passing the small temples and Tholos and an entrance to to western stoa.

D = the Celebrations over the Gifts takes place at the magnificent Temple of Apollo,

surrounded by a multitude of votive statues and monuments.

But in the upper corner, at E = we have the Incursions of the Warriors,

and along the pathway to the south, F = the home of the Scribe

In the shadow of the grand Ancient theater, are G = the Servants Quarters of the Servant Savant:

Ah, and then we arrive finally at H = the final Place of Death...in the Ancient Theater!

Chapter "L" has the outline of the site carefully marked and notation of the locations:

And the Special News Report:

But in the end...at the back cover...what does it all mean?

Can one find the end of the story? Where is Lost Londelozi? ZALOP! Wait!

It is not lost, it is here immortalized in a wondrous chapter with Cheryl's artistic genious.

And I have been there. Yes, it exists!( although in a ruined state). Some kilometers south of Athens, across the channel bridge, and in Springtime when the site is full of flowers, I have walked the Way of the Tortoise, to the Temple of Apollo, around the Agora and the ruins of the servants quarters:

It is Ancient Corinth:

oh, yes...and in reverse in English:

An amazing chapter! A beauty to unfold and spend hours wandering through this archaeological adventure that Cheryl presents us with. Ευχαριστώ! xxx

Did you know that Londolozi is the Zulu word for "protector of all living things"? Londolozi is also a very upmarket game reserve near the Kruger Park here in SA, very well known luxury lodge, too expensive for us S Africans to afford! I would love to visit your Corinth one day.

Londolozi...and on the envelope is Londalozi, and on the boekie is Londelozi. All a play for the word "protector" perhaps?

It is a fascinating chapter by Cheryl! I have spent most of the afternoon "searching" for Lost Londelozi, as I just  knew I had been there. Yes, come to Ancient Corinth...in May, when it is bursting with wild flowers amongst the "old stones".

I was just about to blog this book but katerina has beaten me to it. Thanks for the explications, Lesley. I think I'm going to have to make my way to Corinth to explore the meaning of all this. And to search for the Trojan Tortoise of course.
David I LOVE your drawing of the Trojan Tortoise! My kind of humour!
Katerina!!! I should have known you would find out :-) - thanks for posting - great!! I think I've told you (senility is setting in early) that I made it in Australia while visiting my parents.  NO STUDIO!!! MAN - thats a challange let me tell you... My father has a LARGE collection of old, very old and positively ANCIENT books - the town map - that came from an OLD book.  I was reading up on Greek art - it was freezing - in socks and a blanket (sure you dont want all these details... ANYWAY!) there were pics of that guy - I'm NOT saying who he was - thats ANOTHER secret - and all of a sudden I thought of Helen of Troy and the horse - If I had a choice it would have been a tortoise (Thats why I wasn't invited to the original war planning) - David man! - you made me laugh AGAIN!! And why does love always end in drama and unhappiness - maybe if they chose a tortoise, as slow as it is, they could have escaped???  The Bhubesi Women - the plot is thickening.  Ok - I'm babbling - thanks Momkat - and Angie xx

"not the end of the story..." very clear! Thanks for posting the pics at the library, Angie...what a setting for documentation of Cheryl's boekie...for "J", too!

For not having a studio to work in, Cheryl, your "L" is even more impressive. I am so glad you used the old book of Corinth...now Project 26 members have to plan a meeting there in 2012? Oh, yes!

End of the world IUOMA party in Corinth at the Amphitheater of Final Resting Place...I'm in....

2012: what a way to go ...We shall find the Lost Londelozi...see you all in Ancient Corinth

...in the Spring, 2012 ;-)

(not a digitally enhanced photo)

I'm so totallly there.....Is that near Delphi? We may need a consult...

Check Google maps ;-)

Delphi is northwest of Athens...(nice place, too!)

Corinth is southwest of Athens.

Ancient Olympia is somewhat beyond Corinth to the west, too.

The "BIG THREE" sanctuaries, must see in our search for the Lost Londelozi :-)

very clever story rich with details...and fun...can't wait to read it!
A fabulous history! Thank you cheryll! I am charmed with it!
