Well, I'm finally getting around to posting some "in-progress" photos of the letter M...
Everything has been photocopied, using time-honored zine making techniques. I feel super lucky that Cheryl bestowed the letter M upon me, since I love anything having to do with maps. I decided early on that all of the background imagery for my booklet would be map based.
The text is inkjet printed on blue vellum. Because there's alot of writing, I had to insert an additional page (hope it's not a problem!) I'm carefully cutting/trimming all the text blocks and sticking everything down by hand. When the text is in place, I'll do a bit more "dressing up" -- hand stenciling on the pages, etc.
You can see my mock-up on the left hand side of the photo, with the letter M on it...I find that making a "dummy" of my zine/book projects is invaluable, and actually SAVES me time in the long run; it's kinda like a road map that tells me where to go. What you see here is all of the text, cut up and ready to go onto each page. I've given each bit of text it's own envelope, so that I can keep everything (relatively) organized...
That's what's going on in my part of the world! I'll keep you guys posted on "letter M" 's progress and you're welcome to let me know what you think!
