Before I started sending things, I generally stuck stuff down with glue sticks.  But after I had a couple of envelopes returned because labels fell off, I have been searching for the ultimate humidity resistant glue.  Any suggestions?  I am considering rubber cement.  I haven't used it in years but I remember it is pretty tough (tho' a little lumpy)

Thanks for any tips!!

If you're going the rubber cement route, you must use Premium BEST-TEST PAPER CEMENT, an Acid-Free white rubber thin adhesive.  It's made by UNION RUBBER, INC., and is available at any good art supply store.  I've used it for years and, so far, nothing has fallen apart.  You know to apply to both surfaces and let dry to a matte finish before pressing together.  You'll be amazed at how thin and "non-lumpy" it is compared to crude, office supply grade rubber cement.  They even make a thinner for it to keep it the right viscosity for how you use it.

Neat!  didn't know the correct way to use it either.

I manage with glue sticks, any one, as I mostly stick paper to paper. For shiny materials a drop of UHU (cement) in the middle and glue stick on the corners works for me. Anyhow the question arises: is it not the case that Mail Art  is ephimera?

My gold leaf, which I am using a lot now-a-days, is chocolate wrapper and the metalic layer comes stuck to paper, so it is fine with any paper glue. I eat chocolate every day, glossy, very  dark (85%) and delicious. Apparently healthy too.
