Hello dear Medwolf,
Art trading cards are in the mail to you this Monday morning...
may they arive without a big delay.
And now a question about the Indian tribes.
In my mail box today arrived several cards, etc. And one of them has a photo of an Chickasaw/Choctaw Indian. It says that it is from the Smithsonian (USA) National Museum of the American Indian, at their National Powwow.
But I see what seems to be a lot of synthetic tassels and "ribbons",
should they not be feathers and leather strips? Or, have the eagle feathers and the deer leather been forbidden now, due to animal-rights groups and/or conservation laws?
I can remember attending Winnebego powwows back in the 60's, and our dress details were hand-crafted with feathers and leather and glass beads (not plastic). Maybe the times they have changed ?
As Medicine Wolf, in a tribe? do you do hand-crafted items still with the gifts from nature and not synthetic? It interests me to see if things have changed.
Thanks, just wondering...and wandering :-)
Katerina

Thanks Medwolf for the info about the Regina ATC exhibition. Had word of it earlier through other sources (I'm the organizer of the Vancouver ATC group). Already have cards made for Regina and will be posting them Tuesday. Just gotta write that pesky bio. - Penelope

hola medwolf! thanks for your compliment of my teeny tiny itty bitty project pictures. actually the project stemmed from creating tiny mail that is delivered by sparrow post and were letters by the little nature spirits - nature people. interesting how there is such a common thread through all cultures and distances :)
