Hello Mission Control! I'm sorry to have taken so long getting back to you, but we were in a radio blackout for the last few days. Glad you enjoyed the bit of Canadian Space history. I actually had the fortune of seeing a mock up of the Alouette at the Museum of Science and Technology in Ottawa a few weeks ago:

Alouette and the Canadian Space Program would have only been a dream if not for the first man in space, Yuri Gagarin.

Over and out.

Val -- thank you so much for your wonderful comments and feedback re: Red Letter Day! :-) I'm thrilled that you are enjoying it; always so much fun to make but alot of time and energy as well. Your kind offer of writing about the "Mail Art to Maastracht" project is exciting; let me do some thinking on this and get back to you...

I sent the friends in Budapest copies RLD as well, so am hoping that they will find them interesting and useful...

Thanks Valentine for the long message.

I sent the link to him, and I hope they might get some idea to contribute....

Yes, you guys are far away, and I noticed that they may have more news of nuke than life of victims in overseas. My computer was just down and I have been fixing and recovering my softwares and files at a moment, and I think in fresh and decide to post link on my blog in IUOMA (and twitter) about the information that you cannot get over there. So please check if you are interested in.

Yes, origami sounds nice. I used to teach how to make paper crane every time I travel overseas. I wish I had more time though. I wonder and asked the group guy, because he asks people to send cranes to the US, but since I am in Japan, I wonder if I can send the paper crane directly to where they are sending to in Japan, instead of my crane travel round trip to between Japan and US.

I graduated at the school where Jennie teaches. Got BFA from AAU San Francisco. My major was photography and fine arts. I was taking half online from Japan though. I was in the US 89-93, and 2000-03. I have had my health and financial reasons and it took me 2 decades to get the degree and I went different schools for literary art, film, photography, and fine arts. I was helping my father's management consultant job, but he was too nice that he got involved too much with the store that it was already bad, so his business went bad...

Someone says it will take a while to build a free temporary housing, so people who are in evacuation centers need to stay there 6 months to 1 year. I think money and food come first, but we can take time to help people in thought and mind for art, music, sports and other form of culture that they can be relaxed.

Yes, if I want to do something with or without mail art, I will let IUOMA people know.

Regards,

Thank you for your reply.

May be you miss understood a little.

My question to you is that is it ok to send the "Solidarity" group link to <MMIX Arts Fund> Sendai Miyagi?

My question was that since "You project" is good, but they do not know where to show your mail art yet, and I am concerning how to get all of your group mail art directly to victim. I see it is more suitable that I connect with art in a place like Sendai. Sendai is a capital of Miyagi, but has not distracted much. But it is a part of Miyagi prefecture that has a lot of damages in many cities by the oceans. So right now, the NPO art groups there stood up, and do something for themselves. I think it is a good idea to send your group link to them, and eventually they may find some place to show or give your mail directly to the victim at the evacuation centers. I can create a new call on behalf to connect your group and Miyagi, if they get some idea where you can send mail art to. (on IUOMA "call" site)

I am busy myself to make my own living to get out of poverty, so I don't have time to do other things. Besides, I need to save money to travel to San Francisco for my graduation, and eventually need to move there to get together with my partner. But I started doing internet sells, both selling my art works and other recycle stuff in different sites, and as I sell, some of my profit goes to the donation. I just sold two of my paintings to a new buyer in Canada, so as soon as I get money from her, I donate some portion to the aid bank.

(I figure local government fundraising reach them firster than Red Cross. The news said that Red Cross has not decided how to distribute money yet, because there are still missing people, so they cannot figure out how much goes where....)

Also, I joined Jimmy's benefit show which is happening in San Francisco and just sent my photographs as donations.

Hello Valentine,

Thank you for your mail art.

I want to send a personal message, but since we haven't connected as Friend, I write you here.

I thank for many kind message, mail art on "Solidarity with Japan". I have been thinking how to get though everyone message directly to the victim of Tunami. I found some Japanese artist via twitter @kadowaki who live in Sendai (Miyagi ken) and work as to connect art and society.

http://www.kadowakiart.com/

I asked him if he has any idea how to show "Solidarity..." member's message or send mail art to them. He was busy for watching out people in his community, but now he replied to me that there is some Art NPO in Sendai who is hooking up art and Earthquake Aid.

Kadowaki san said, he can send the link of "Solidarity..." group to them with their permission, and by the time, he finds the place to show send or show your mail art, he will let me know. If it is for you to give the link of the group, I tell him "yes" to him. Please reply what ever the way to me. I think it is better to send you the information directly to you, instead of writing on the group site.

{Back of hand pressed to forehead wrinkled with worry}

I suppose you want this soon????

Our stamp gift--it has gone to the great beyond! I fear I won't be able to give credence to your French-fried postal service which ATE that stamp, along with a very nicely done letter in a (may I add) custom envelope!!!!

**Heavy sigh**

Oh.....very....well......

I'm already knee-deep in one other project, plus things to do for mundane living. So you may have to wait a while, my friend.

Say......Wait a bit!!! How do we know you didn't EAT the mail yourself? Can you assure us, in all truth, you have never received that mail we (the stamp is a sort of bonus from our archives) sent? How do I know I can trust you, eh???
