Glad you liked the stuff I sent. I am sure more will worm it's way south to you. I do estate sales for a living so I come across lots of "stuff" - much of it is considered "trash" to anyone who does not make some type of art. So I try to share with others who appreciate the "stuff" of life as i do.

Loved your stationary! The snake/lizard girl has inspired me for one of my guardian warriors - see you in the mail! k

Thanks, Jen. I'll pass this along to Brooklyn who will probably respond with a bite or scratch...she's totally psycho....

though less so in middle age....

No story really...just felt it was time for a new icon...plus Brooklyn, our cat was squirreling around the computer when I was trying to draw that little cartoon. She horned into the pic and naturally upstaged everything....as cats will do.

Glad the down with the evil MCD empire bibby arrived. sorry no animal crackers inside.  feel hypocritical, because as much as I'm against big box and fast food chains, we're having my daughter's 7th b-day party there this Friday.  so ashamed

Yeah, yeah...normally I'm not so mercenary (in fact, I have no idea how to be mercenary) but I'm so miserable at my job I'm trying to exploit myself for financial gain. It has never been my strong suit I'm afraid..

Photoshop CS3 -- love it. It's expensive -- about $600 -- but it's amazing. My company bought me a MAC laptop with it already installed. Goldmine!!!!!!

Your welcome! I received yours as well-yesterday- Thank you! (I've always wanted a race car!)

I've had a few people ask me about the "packing tape" transfer. I should actually blog this; but what you do is you put either a  photocopied or laser copied image on to a piece of packing tape; then you let it soak in some water (room temp. is fine) for about 20 minutes. Take it out of the water and gently rub the paper off from the back until it's all gone and you should have a clear sticker transfer. Sometimes it's still sticky enough to attach to your work, sometimes I just put a bit of matte medium to make it stick better. It's one of my fave ways to make transfers:)

I was pretty happy with the things I've made with the stamps. At first I had no idea what I was going to do with them, but I just applied a similar technique and...there it was. Gald Texas saw it. Been thinking of West Texas lately, listening to Joe Ely and what not. Till then...

Glad you liked it! It started out with clippings from old mags from the 20-40s and either carol lombard or a star of that era was called that as a child - and it hit me as cute since she grew up to be so swank. Hope all is well with you! hugs!

Jen -- I received your mail today -- thanks so much!!! I'm glad you like the valentine's card; they're always such fun to put together. As for SF later this month, you should send me an email; perhaps we can get together for a cuppa coffee! I can give you a guided tour... :-)

Okay. Let me rephrase that.

What I'm looking for from you is, how is it perceived if we already may be too busy to respond when someone new to us decides they want to benefit us unexpectedly? Quite frankly, we're stumped. Our time is worth something, and all of us have busy schedules to keep up with. Would it not be considered rude to the sender, were none of us prepared to respond in kind?

Seriously. How does this work?

Again, we were not accustomed to such a loosely kept agenda in our other two trading groups. We're all of us more used to having some sort of regularity. this helps us to plan and perform better.

Thanks for your time.

Jenn: Perhaps you would be so good as to allow me to understand you the further?

I was reading over some of what you had first shared with me of your experiences here, and noted the phrase: "no strings attached."

Are you saying one is not necessarily expected to reply to all mail sent? I wish there were some sort of guidebook. This can be quite a confusing scene for one so new.

Your answer would help me greatly.

Thanks so much for your time.

Hi Jen,  I have been thinking of you with your snow!  I'm doing well.  Gearing up to get a big mailing out around the 25th or so .  I've been making "different" stuff.  Playing and having fun.  I'm so happy my fiber piece is in the right home :-)
