Straight outta the mean streets of Heidelberg comes Svenja's Mail Art Nuns and Running Man with Camel. Svenja, like so many others, has sent me two (2) things before I could even blog one....(insert sound of smitten brow here). I love Svenja's wrap around technique and I'm going to try it soon. I can hear those national geographic maps a callin' me. I will need some help deciphering the text here, Svenja as my German (like my French) is limited to Woe est der toiletten.

Svenja also sent me Running Man with Camel. Through the white hot desert sandstorm Running Man races Camel to the next oasis. I can feel the grit in my bathing suit just looking at this. The map is filled with exotic place names like Bumba and Bogbonga which are suburbs outside of Heidelberg proper. The labyrinth of Bogbonga is a popular tourist destination as well as watering hole for the local camel population. Thank you, Svenja. I swear to Osiris I'm getting something out to you shortly.

Fun mail art from Svenja, ja! I like that wrap-around map, too!

I have had the Greek Post return several of my mailings...so I started

to line out my return address, too, and also put an arrow and "TO:" for the sender.

Sigh....and I use an envelope, even! We really have to train these postal clerks

to read and understand mail art.

No, no, thank you, Svenja....

Thanks for blogging, David! The German is just a rather indignant post-it for the post office, because I got the card back and didn't want to put a new stamp on it - so I told them that everything was correct the first time, even my address was crossed out etc. ...

Lisa, nunsense! I love that one!!
