Another exhibit from the museum of small things by curator Theresa Williams. Weaving a story around an old Cracked card that depicts Brooklyn of long ago, Theresa reimagines the scene as it might unfold with the current residents of the contemporary epicenter of the hipness. I don’t envy Jimmy in his wonderment. Thank you, Theresa.

A small story: Exhibit #7

With the passion of Isis seeking the remains of Osiris, her old man, Jimmy’s mother reads to him again a story of fractal resonance. “Jimmy,” she reminded him, “the fire is in the mind.” Jimmy considered the awkwardness of living and he wondered if his mother was merely trying to imitate others or if she acted according to her own talents. It was a problem of the postmodern world.

Curator of small things Theresa Williams, Exhibit #7. A small story told on a small set of steps to a small boy by a big woman who was his mother.
