The typesetter's mouth - from David Stafford

Another great story by David. I am so used to him coming up with the greatest tales and fictive characters that I'm not sure anymore... this is a true story, right? David REALLY used to typeset the haiku journal Frogpond for Elizabeth and Bruce Lamb, and inserted his own work from time to time?! Help me out here, I'm only a gullible Cherry Blossom.

Typesetter's Mouth

Blossoms...

So sweetly hilarious. Again, I can picture the whole scene. Mr. and Mrs Lamb quietly reading through the latest issue of Frongpond while having their afternoon tea, and suddenly going What the ... ???
You're the king of haiku, David, thank you, I love this card (and I think I recognize Shirt Eating Man?)

great mail art --and btw some cherry blossoms are pink--stained--the Kanzan one for sure. Great story I know is true because when I was an editor for a small legal publishing company, I used to put my friends' names in the index for fun (who doesn't like to see their names in print?!) that's what we do because we're there late and alone trying to make the deadlines and no one is around to stop us from our mischievous impulses. Bravo David Stafford.

Ok, I buy it :-)  It would be a great story even if made up.

Then great true story, David. Haiku, cherry blossoms, journals - I like it. Putting in your own work when doing typesetting - excellent.

FAB :-) - At least these stories are remembered - all to often we forget.

I believe it. I suppose it could be fiction. I hope it's true. Nice haiku, and more wonderful cherry blossoms. Great work; great blog, as always.
