May 11, 2016 - Inspired by an exhibition of work by Noah Purifoy, FinnBadger created this exceptional piece of “Junk Dada,” which he has so kindly sent to me. Of course I note that this Junk Dada composition – especially given its textual emphasis – has striking similarities to Trashpo. Purifoy’s Junk Dada, I propose, might best be understood as pre-Trashpo or proto-Trashpo. Finn Badger’s kind note explains a great deal:

Ha, does the fact that someone thinks I am fake mean that I've finally arrived?

Yes, mostly pre-trashpo, although the cigarette packaging is definitely weathered street trash. Thanks for the blog.

I am so new to mail art and to this whole scene, I never understand half of what's going on, whether people are using real or fake names, whether what someone says is satirical or not, or what a lot of the "movements" are all about. Your reporting clues me in a little bit more and I appreciate it.

It's funny. I posted a link to this blog on FB. Sinclair Scripa thinks FinnBadger might be a fake person! She thinks Finn might be the notorious Kipsey Marlowe, no less (who is a fake identity someone is using). I set he straight about Finn being a real person. Things are strange right now.
