Today I learned what a 'punnikin' is. I've seen lots of yarn bombing and guerrilla knitting, but did not know that the little dangly things are punnikins. Now I know. Or do I?  Do I have this right?  --LInda

Hi Linda, yep..it is called "spool knitting" in the USA,

and Val is correct, Suus in Mokum makes some fantastic mail art beauties:

Yep, Linda, you have it right. Punnekins are called 'tricotaines' in French, and are the product of 'yarn knitting'.

The two great 'punnikin-ers' here at IUOMA are Suus in Mokum and Hellen van Veen. They (especially Suus) incorporate punnekins in lots of their work as can be seen from the photos they paste here. They sstarted me off on my punnekin voyage...and even sent me some wool, too.

You should try it. It's very relaxing. Then you can work out what to do with them (and let me know?).
