Our most recent Mail Call Day was Friday, so I'm catching up (again). I'd traded before with Skybridge Studios and Marguerite Keen, but never before with Susanne. Suffice it to say, her sleek and sophisticated work is more than I could have hoped to receive. It recalls japanese art with its simplicity and taste. Come to think of it, even her colors on the front of this work evoke thoughts of Japan's aesthetic tradition. Gorgeous, really!!! And her gift stamps are overwhelmingly pleasurable--my first Magyar Posta stamps!!!!!! Very cool. THANK YOU so much, Susanne!!!!!!!!! Lovely!!!
Marguerite's work never fails to capture the imagination. It's just like receiving a special confection one's pre-ordered for shipment to one's door--everything tasteful, fresh, and cleanly done. I can just imagine what her home life must be all about: tasteful, cheering surroundings, lots of home cooking, plenty of fresh flowers. Very lovely. THANK YOU for another wonderful piece of mail-art, Marguerite!!!!!!!!!!! Hope your mother goes for the tag you've chosen for her in a big way!!!
Skybridge Studios' unique postcard made it through the mail with nary a problem, obviously! Any idea which characters those are on your gift fabric "flag"? Amazing how fresh it looks!!! I'd no idea people could send art that way via post in postcard format!!!!! New inspiration for this IUOMA member!!!!! THANKS, Skybridge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fascinating how much there is to know about the art of mailing art!!!!
Some pics to peruse
Our studio's scanner simply cannot do justice to all the fine artwork here. Meanwhile, our new camera's already busted! (Taking it back tomorrow afternoon, or as time permits.....)
Comment
It is such an inspiring thing, opening mail from one of these people! I liken it to a form of dessert which can never add on the pounds, and which is always so tasty, one can't have enough!
Bon appétit!
