Welcome Surprise from James Chester

A wonderful and fancy piece of mail art arrived in the post from James Chester. He has sent me the deed and title to a series of properties along the Boardwalk, and included a landscape drawing of the property I've  apparently inherited. Look at those rent prices! I certainly wouldn't mind renting a house for $200 ! Why haven't I moved to Boardwalk…

Two Postcards by Debra Mulnick from Boise

Very creative output by Debra. The swirl image at the far right of the "double cherries" postcard appears to be a self-carved rubber stamp image. Interesting how it mirrors the "question mark" on the other postcard! Here are close-ups of each post card along with their reverse sides, which were just as creative and which alo used some antique postage stamps both…

New pencils

I've been playing around with new pencils - water color ones by Faber-Castell and ink pencils by Derwent.

I found a circle stencil and used that and my 9b graphite stick from Sennelier to make circles. What fun. The ink pencils are really good so I'll…

Some mailart gems I have found

The picture quality is not so good because I took them with my phone using flash and my scanner is rather temperamental.

From Cernjul Viviana I hope I got the name correct. A lovely collaged postcard.

More machine stitched atcs from Amy…

Some Mailart arrivals

These arrived last month and I have either been extremely busy or trying to overcome insomnia not helped by someone who insist on sleep at 4am and still managed to wake at 11am.

Anyway here are some arrivals.

This is from An. U.- collaged postcard and two atcs. I love this simple and refined style.…

It helps if the foreign hitchhiker knows enough Japanese to engage - for Arthur Huang

A very local mail today. Let's see how long it takes for a japanese snail to go from one lab bench to the next one.

221 Pachinko Parlor Psychology 222 A Pickle a Day - for Grigori Antonin

Postcard with a photo and article from an old magazine. It pictures a hypnosis experiment (presumably in the 60's) on kids that don't like certain types of food. At least one of the boys doesn't seem to fall into it, LOL.

I added an extract from the table of contents cut out from an old guide book about Japan. I'll be cutting out random phrases from that book for most of my future postcards because most of them are quite… Continue

The Black and White Pattern Project

I put an ad in Node Pajomo asking for people to send me postcards upon which they have made a black and white pattern, preferably a complex one. So far, I have not had many responses and I realized I should post about it here, also. For the time being, there are only two results from this project (I add to/change/or re-envision the images sent to me and send them back to the one who sent me the postcard in the first place).

One was from Xti here on IUOMA - her black and…

Mail Art Project - Phobias! - One of the latest postcards I've received

Postcard sent by mail artist and IUOMA member, Harriet Barrett. Her Phobia is Clowns (especially the wigs!)

My project is going really well so far, with many people all over the world sending me wonderful pieces of mail art. It always makes my day when I receive some.

I plan to hold my exhibition towards the end of July.

I have also been sending off mail art to, which has been really… Continue
