Run before it evaporates and we are left with nothing at all - from David Stafford

Another David Stafford, yeey! When I got the card I thought it was about David running to the post office with a letter, or running home from the post office (with a letter as well, obviously). Well it's not exactly like that. The card is part of a sketch he made for Helder Coehlo Dias' poster. After this it is a bit hard to follow the story.…

The woman at the top of the world - from David Stafford

Just when my mailbox was on the verge of despair about not seeing a David Stafford for too long, I get this wonderful card. A very dreamy, soft and hazy picture, a beautiful woman and the entrance of a mysterious tunnel. It's a dream, for sure. And such a well written dream as well. Please take a moment to read it, you will see what I mean. David says the story…

I believe David Stafford has special powers.

I want to have words that describe how amazingly perfect and perfectly me this mail art from David is…but I don’t have the words that will do it justice. Here is what I can say…. This absolutely perfect piece of mail art features…my love, the vintage couch! Wait… there is more….with three hilarious illustrated couch rides! But wait….there’s more! Vintage newspaper article…Chicago Daily News re: a WGN radio commentator plans to retire at 35 in Arizona! Why is this so perfectly me??? I grew up…

David Stafford the (possible) alien, with great watercolor

Great watercolor, David, and is she singing, laughing, or screaming? Whichever it is, two thumbs up. Maybe it's all three, so much the better.

The other side at first looked partly as though you were sending me a denim patch to wear with my…

David Stafford ... Himself

Here is he is, describing himself, sometime in the 1950s: It's kind of sad to learn that David's only "distingwishing" feature was "maybe" his back teeth, since probably few of his classmates actually got to see them. But we have learned since that David has more than one distinguishing feature, such as his hair in the 1970s during his presidential run, his spooky eyes even…

Our Own David Stafford: The Sane Choice?

You be the judge: The answer is in the eyes, isn't it? They are either very sane or very not sane; no in-between. And yes, this is for real. After he sent it, I asked David several times if this is really him in a campaign poster from the '70s. And several times he said yes. I ended up believing him because at very first sight the eyes looked familiar--yes, they're the same eyes…
