Helen has titled this postcard "contentment drawing" (or perhaps that is a methodology/technique?). anyhow, it's working, as gazing upon this piece soothes my soul (a not-so-secret side effect of some Mail Art).

this naive drawing looks like something you'd find on a classroom blackboard, but my mind distorts the pastoral scene, anxious about those clouds in the sky, the chimney smoke, the sunbeams and pond ripples. kind of like those duck/rabbit or old/young woman ambiguities - is this a picture of peacetime or wartime?
