WHAT THE HECK IS W WIDGET!
Born in the late 60’s my influences as a youngster were largely my parents. During that time as a family we made a living selling handcrafted items at crafts fairs. I can remember pounding and stamping soft metals that would be turned into jewelry to sell at the fairs.
Living in many different parts of the U.S. throughout my life has provided much experience to draw on for inspiration as well.
A self-taught artist, I am continually experimenting with techniques and mediums. I enjoy color, design and pattern from the Art Deco era. Inspiration for my work begins with the fascination I have of people and nature. I often use color as a vehicle to express emotion. Currently I have been exploring new mediums.
I challenge myself with each piece of work and very much enjoy the maturing process as I evolve. Art is a universal language that is open to the interpretation of the viewer.
I encourage everyone to feed his or her creative spirit, because life is not a dress rehearsal!
