  • McFloozy

    Glad you got it! Gotij!

  • McFloozy

Oh, also, put me in the tank for your rubber stamp drawing. It would be an honor to carry the tradition forward. Perhaps we could keep swapping it forward until the world is at 365.
  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

#329 arrived in Greece today, Mim! Yay! Me got one of your great "split-photos" designs. I like all of them and this one is my favorite! Many thanks xx

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Oh....how appropriate of you Mim! Now I just read on your blog that the half-photo on the card you sent is from "the front entry area of Le Lapin Agile up on Montmartre". That makes it perfect! xx
  • cheryl penn

Dear Ma'am, I am ESPECIALLY pleased to announce the safe arrival of your GREAT DeskTops - pics soon - many thanks :-) XX
  • Valentine Mark Herman

    Bonjour Mim!

Just a short note to say Merci for the nice envelope that arrived yesterday AND all the stamps that were in it -- they're always appreciated (and, who knows, may one day wend their way back to you).

I've given up collecting banana labels, and  will be sending Dean's banana bingo xard to Anna as a Fruit Salad Contribution -- ie it has lots of fruit labels/stickers on it, but they're not all bananas.

I'm sure that Dean won't be offended -- after all when has he ever followed the 'rules' that the rest of us have tried to lay on him?

I'll be mailing you something back before the week is out.

    Best wishes, Val

  • Valentine Mark Herman

    Newt.... 1001 Nights?

One piece of mail art made and/or sent for 1001 nights...now that'll keep you going for a while!

    Regards, Val

  • Valentine Mark Herman

    Thanks Mim!

When you've gotten to the end of 1001 nights, then, of course, I have another idea for you.

I won't tell you all the details, but just hint that it involves you buying a submarine, going a long way under the sea and has the number 20,000 associated with it. It's not possible to start this project yet as US Post has not yet got it's Underwater Post Box Programme (note English spelling) funded by Congress yet.

Liberté, Fraternité et une tasse de thé from that nice little thé shop that your frined runs in Richmond.

Hi Mim! Thanks for the altered de Kooning-influenced pipe. It reminded me of René Magritte's "The Treatchery of images" painting of a pipe, and the caption 'Ceci n'est pas une pipe'.

    I'll mail you something in the New Year to your new Paris address, so that you'll start to begin Mail Art in your new country;

    Thanks again, and bestest, Val

Happy Holidays...and happy packing for the trip to Paris! xxx

  • Valentine Mark Herman

Bonjour! I don't think you're crabby at all -- quite the opposite. My sign is Libra, and you will by now be only too well aware as to how balanced I am. Or was. Or might be. Or think about being. Oh, bother -- the scale on the weighing machine isn't working, so I'm not balanced at all.

Hope your preparations pour votre visite ici are going well.

    Bestest, Val

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

xxx Beautiful watercolor MIMimal card arrived today! Lovely, Mim, thank you and expect something from Greece when you arrive in Paris!

  • Valentine Mark Herman

Bonjour again! If you search for Paris based Mail Artists here, you find a dozen...of which I only know Dean. You and/or he might know others (including Chaponnerie, whose taste in headgear is as bizarre as mine), and might want to inlude theim in the reunion -- which doesn't have a date yet, right?

    Regards, Val

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    Gaaa leeee' aaa = ΓΑΛΛΙΑ

Yes! Exactly, Mim, you got it!

ΓΑΛΛΙΑ = Gaul, the ancient name of France!

Nonjour Mim! I hope that you and Chuck are enjoying Gay Paree; Thanks for the latest card. I'll try to remember to bring it to Paris to claim my free glass of wine,as promised. If I photocopy it, say 10 times, can I claim 10 glasses?

I'm going to the UK at the end of the week, but will mail you something before then.

Hope to see you next month.

    Bestest, Val

Yes, yes,...Mona has arrived in Greece, too!

Thank you soooo much, must post this at Cheryl's blog for Mona Lisa.

(And little blue mouse just loves it! Me, too! xx)

  • Emmy Verschoor

Thanks, Mim, your lovely Mona showing her needlework arrived in the Netherlands.

She will have a great time with us, because I have so much to repair for her!

Enjoy the rest of your stay in Paris!

  • Valentine Mark Herman

    Bonsoir!

Un, how are you enjoying Paris?

Dos, did Chuck get my KLM-inspired piece?

Drie, when are we going to the Postal Museum?

Quattor -- Suzi or an Audi?

    LuVVaL

  • Valentine Mark Herman

Bon jour! Sorry about the postage -- I stamp everything, but the stamp in question must have gone walkabout, as the Australians say. Expensive -- moi? You ain't seen nothin' yet. Quattro? In the 70's there was a Glam Rock band led by a leather-clad blonde bass player called Suzi Quattro (sort of a musical Marianne Faithful 'Girl on a Motor Cycle' with a Fender rather than a large motor bike). The German car manufacturer Audi introduced an innovative 4-wheel drive system for cars about the same time  and called it the 'Quattro': it's still there on many of their current models.

Simple really. Regards, John (without the Other Three -- Chuck will explain, or not) and Carla (Nicolas will explain).

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Yay! Happy to hear that Mim is getting some mail art, too...(not all going to Chuck ;-)

I do enjoy visiting your blog, Mim! It seems that the Guggenheim Museum is VERY impressive...so glad you two had a chance to get there. Now if only this weather would warm up a bit so we can ALL enjoy Paris...see you soon!

  • Mary Jo Cartledgehayes

Funny -- I just saw this comment and wanted to tell you that I kept shaking the card back and forth before I sent it to you!  There's just something about fringe!  I've been seeing references to Noah's book everywhere lately.  I hope it stays in print for a long time, because people will continue to find it and want it.

  • giuli.fiori

Got your card on Friday! Thanks a lot!!!! Enjoy Paris for me ;)

  • Lilian Mariutti

    Hi Mim!

    Thanks for the friendship!

Paris is very nice and we Brazilians seem to be everywhere! But we are nice people :)
