BANANAS

AKA Anna Banana Appreciation Band (ABAB)

The theme is Bananas & Anna Banana.  Many of our members are « bananas » themselves, others are »fruity », a few are « nutty », and one is completely « ape ».
If you are none of these, don’t worry we can help you with specially designed projects and exams for your progress to the banana status you deserve.
We will also explore the many works of Anna Banana as we give appreciation for involvement in Mail Art & "Art".
PS I you are « crackers » or « loony », this group may not be for you.
Also: see link and fill in the form and return it to Anna Banana!

  • Heleen de Vaan

Not sure if I  am able to send out sufficient bananas before 18th of November (last year I was too late), so don't count me in...

But at least I want to show you the wonderful Banana Mail Art which I received today from Laura Griffin from Victoria, Canada, where the Art Gallery is.

This great stamp for instance, which Laura added to the envelope.
Never knew before that there are Houses in Bananas!

The mail art has been delivered fast: the Canadian Post postmarked it 27th October, arrival overseas 4 November.
Thanks to this extra, delivery-quickening banana stamp on the back of the envelope:

  • Heleen de Vaan

And in the envelope: look! See these lovely Banana Ladies.
The bird top right is worth a post on my Animals blog (but I'll do that probably in the weekend).

On the back of  this collage, among other beauty, a great artistamp of the famous Anna Banana:

    Thank you very much, Laura!

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Heleen, you may make your banana mail art at your leisure and just mark them Nov. 18...even if we get them for Christmas :-)

People who attended Anna Banana's exhibit in Canada seem to be sending us banana mail ...this arrived in Greece from Liz:

How very nice...and with the banana stamp, too!

('will blog the card inside soon)

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

  • stripygoose

so the far distant ones arrive by Nov. 18.

Let's not open or blog the Banana Mail Art until Nov. 18, ok?

Banana by Angie !  Detail of the same one I just blogged but the other way around just to fool you.  No matter which way you look at a banana, it's still a banana.  Late or not Phillip!  Thanks again to everyone who took part.  What a great surprise.

  • Dean aka Artist in Seine

And yes, that is a real 3D elephant on the Banana.  Thank you Sue.With a glow of Bananas through a cathedral window.  I wish you all a wonderful International Banana Appreciation Day.

Thank you, FinnBadger, for your great Banana Smile and the wonderful Circle of (banana) Life! Arrived exact on Banana Appreciation Day, but I was too busy yesterday (creating bananamailart) to post it on The Day.
