Two more from Vinyl Val, linked by the theme of drink.

First, here's one featuring Sigean's most famous bar, La Rotonde, founded in 1852, and frequented (regularly!) by me from 2004 to 2014. Then, in a major lifestyle move, I switched to the Café de Paris:

Second, the message of this one is "Don't drink and drive". Cultural note: some countries (including the Scandinavian ones) forbid a driver from drinking any alcohol at all. In France, the message from this Association, is that 2 drinks are OK, but the 3rd will put you over the legal limit. Enjoy the Vinyl instead:

Katerina: the BIG floppy's are almost impossible to get hold of. If you have one (or more) that you no longer have any sort of use for, and/or some 3.5 non(floppy floppies, I can promise to give them a good home.

I've got Walkman cassette+ radio players, but nothing that involves CDs (cos I don't have any CDs).

Surely I must have a BIG floppy disc in the hot city apartment..

also there must be some of those 3.5 discs (that were really not "floppy")

I do have here at the seaside shack my tape cassette player

that is also a CD player and a radio (it must be an antique???)

Yes, Katerina -- Samantha's Polaroids was sort of Part 3. But the Polaroid (type) photos that were supposed to be in the exhibition in Sigean got left behind in Copenhagen.

Part 4 could be FLOPPY DISCS?

Has anyone got any Floppy discs that they could donate to a good cause*?

* well, my cause, that you may decide not to be good at all

Can't wait for part 3.

Steffi Graf is married to André Agassi. Between them they have won, tennis-wise, everything that can be won -- and many times over.

I currently have 2 portable radio/casette reocrders, 1 very early (1978) hi fi system that plays casettes, 1 later hi fisystem from about 1985 and about 6 working Walkmans;

Cassettes have gone the same way as vinyl the same way as 35 mm slides the same way as floppy discs the same way as reel-to-reel tae recorders the same way as... well, they are DEAD but not forgotten(here at least).

I am building, slowly, up to a series of "Dead technologies"  for ,rt purposes-- Part 1, 35 mm slides (Arty Slides); Part 2 Vinyl; Part 3... to be abnnounced later...

Continuing on the same theme, but a different song;

Val received awhile ago;

but was too tight to mention.

and that's just simply red.

So open up the red box & put it in.

Erni: yes, the saying is corect, and so is the title of the Rod Stewartalbum.

Where do you get cassettes? Well I have about 1000 of them -- including about 40 from your ex-Indian collection.

You can buy pre-recorded ones at flea markets here in France.

And the Cassette Recorder Repairer Extraordinaire is....Dean

His best book was 'A Confederate general frim Big Sur'.

I read all of his stuff in the early 1970's, and it was interesting then.

I re-read it in the mide 2000's, and...well, it all seemed rather weak.
