I'll be in this round too. I love the New Year's theme, that can be absolutely anything!

Not, I'm sure someone would if you ask nicely...!

I will participate...I vote with Stephanie...open theme *!*

Ok, I'll get in on this. Although I have never made Arty Slides before, I have received some wonderful ones. I have a hard time sticking to a theme so if I go off it too far is someone going to come to my house and hit me with  a stick?

Sounds like fun to me esp. If the timing is pretty relaxed - am bit busy this month already. I am a bit up and down about themes but will give one a go! Thanks for the idea whoever had the idea : > )

It's cold, grey and miserable here this afternoon, and I'd like to suggest some themes to brighten things up:

* summer

* sunshine

* summer holidays

Your "Esteemed President and CEO" writes:

"Bonjour Gang. Thank you for enquiring about my whereabouts (the CIA, Mossad, FBI, etc have also been asking). As Judy said, I am alive and well. I have spent most of the last 3 months not being well, but am on he mend now.

I have been quiet on Arty Slides recently. I started this little 'movement' off and have made over 800 Arty Slides to date. The highlights for me of 2012 were i) getting this Group off the ground (we now have 50+ members), and drawing enormous pleasure from all the ideas and originality that you bought to it (while wondering at the same time why almost half of our members contributed absolutely nothing: why bother joining in the first place?) and ii)  organising  here in Sigean 2 Arty Slide Exhibitions, the second of which featured the works of many of you.

I must admit I don't know what happens next, but am very much of the feeling that something ought to happen -- another Exhibition 5Sue: weren't you going to organise one, on cardboard boxes, in your local library?), an exchange, a new project? -- to keep the momentum going. Or, perhaps, we should just rest on our Arty Slide laurels, and see what happens without forcing things?

On a personal note -- and I ask your forgiveness for this -- Mail Art is only part of my arty activities, and Arty Slides a (large) part of that. I'm Artist-in-Residence at a local Gallery, and am just about to launch my 3rd quite large Exhibition in the last 6 months (of not-so-good health). I'm also working on 4 or 5 other Exhibitions -- one of which is likely to be of Arty Slides -- for this Spring & Summer. This is quite a heavy load and means that I have to try and be 'creative' in (too) many different ways, and have always to think of 'new' (for me) things -- like my Sea Monsters, Polaroid project, glass plate prints, Aboriginal-type art, etc. I need another 'big' idea, but don't have one yet. Hélas.

There are many Arty Slideists (hopefully reading this) in the Group and I know that you have lots of good and original ideas. So, what can be done to kick-start this Group again? If it needs a change in President/CEO then I will willingly step aside from my self-appointed role(s) and someone else can take over.

So, Arty Slide Gang, what should we do?
