This Group is for anyone who uses 35 mm photographic slides -- 'Arty Slides' -- in their work. It is an international network that welcomes all Arty Slide artists.

NOTE: This Group is effectively in deep, very derep hiberrnation. The amount of ongoing Arty Slide activity is very close to nil, alas.

(* I recently halved my number of Friends -- which now stand at about 160. I looked at how long ago it was that I had received and/or sent Mail Art to them, and discovered for many of them that it was a long, long time ago. Then I looked to see how recently it was that they had had any sort of activity in IUOMA, and discovered that for most of them it was a long, long time ago. So I un-friended (?) them on the grounds that they weren't here anymore. I sent each of them a message explaining what I had done, and asking if they wanted to renew our friendship. Only 1 out of more than 130 replied. The rest, I assumed, had moved on, moved out, etc. They weren't dormant. They weren't in hibernation. They just weren't in IUOMA anymore.)

Perhaps the non-active members of the group enjoy seeing our slides and the things we post here, and isn't that just as important in mail art? Numbers don't matter as long as we're all having fun, and I don't see that having dormant members can hurt the group at all. Just my opinion.

As far as being 'in or out' of the Arty Slide Group, I hate being pinned down and think there must be others who like the fluidity of dipping in and out of groups. To my mind fixing a group isn't very mailart, but that may say more about me than anything else.
