This is a place to explore all things trashpo (Trash Poetry)and found objects. Trashpo is 1) economical 2) environmentally responsible and 3) challenging. It's a great way to repurpose all the trash that our planet is buried in!

"If trashpo has taught me anything its that every windblown street corner and cyclone fence is a veritable Dick Blick of free art materials."
Not that kind of junk and not thse kinds of drawers... Hey, we all have them. I have several. They are veritable trasher troves of useless and useful-but-forgotten stuff. Papers, letters from lost lovers, dried up fountain pens, church attendance…Continue

It does look xray-like, doesn't it? That adds to its poignance -- innocence, with life's pain still ahead -- think I was missing some of the dimensionality at first look. It's a beautiful piece, and more and more detail becomes noticeable each time I go back to look at it.
That is very fun, Marcia; I especially love everything about the box itself, particularly the multicolored roundish sticks piled vertically up the back? Hard to describe, but what are those?
Erni (and all others so interested in theft :--) , last winter in the dead resort town we live in there was a long string of break-ins into summer cottages. The robbers would leave everything but the copper piping system throughout, which they meticulously removed.
I've been following this thread when I have time and have enjoyed seeing everyone's contributions. Erni, do you find smashed beer bottle caps? I've been meaning to do something with mine but find it hard to part with some of them.
I dug out this dusty "shrine" made with a found ford, lidless cigar box, and a chunk of metal that seemed to me to be heart shaped.
Welcome Dean!
Erni-here cans aren't worth much but they've had people stealing manhole covers and brass urns from the cemetaries for scrap metal, which is why most things have to be bolted down. Someone stole a buddha from our yard.
