Just posted a blog pronouncing the marvelous Trashpo talents of Mora Chepin, Pretty Lily, and Schooling.  Find it here:

http://iuoma-network.ning.com/profiles/blogs/garbage-oh-oh-so-extra...

The blog is only viewable to friends since it contains some political viewpoints.  Gosh darn it--somebody's art elicited an emotion from me, and I had to write about it!  God bless mail art for doing that.  And bless the artist for doing what art was meant to do.

Good to see the photos here, p.lily, which was going to be my next suggestion. You did such a beautiful thing! You gave him a very great gift today--and while he may never smile AT me, that he smiled at all is a wonderful thing. That is all I hoped for, and you made it happen.

Gee, you guys are sweet!  Thank you for the nice comments.  As I remember it all began with  a discussion on the topic of sending DK's jewel of a postman, some mail art.  I sent him something too.  Diane is collecting mailart for him - to bundle and give to him all at once.

I'm happy that Nancy observed a smile.  That was our intention.  Make them happy and keep them smiling.  Show them a little love.  <3

Sue-what you sent is fantastic! so thoughtful how could he not smile?

It was also clearly marked....This is not for Nancy!  Hope he did smile.  Grumpy as he may be, the postmen do work hard.

Great News, Nancy.  This is what was in the Pringles Can.

Eureka!!! P. Lilly has done the impossible!  That's a great story Nancy and so great that you were actually able to observe his reaction. Too cool:)

Update #3 on effort to get prettylily's gift to my grumpy mailman: SUCCESS TODAY!!! WAHOO!!! He took it out of the mailbox, read my note, and took it with him back to the truck, where he looked it over for a minute or so and then put it aside for later. I could see the side of his face, a little from behind, as he sat in the truck, and as he drove off, I swear there was a little mouth curvature--upward. I.e., I believe he SMILED! Sue, you did it! Congratulations, thank you, and more power to you in your sweet and artful acts in the world. (You might need to make some extra space for your swollen good karma now.)

My art stash. This is a picture of all the paper 'ephemera' art supplies I use. I'm not sure anyone else (but trashpoets) would see any value in it whatsoever, but it is like gold to me. I used to have more pretty papers, etc. but I guess I'm becoming a trash purist-not really by choice, but because that's the only thing that inspires me. Guess I'm easy to please.  I'm inspired by Lisa to try her idea of making some trashpo ornaments. Hope you guys are having a good day. Trash On!!!
