Fossick is a great word which means to rummage or rifle vigorously through lots of stuff to get to something good. We have gold fossickers here, but usually we just fossick at garage sales and op shops and the rubbish dump. Aaaah, the rubbish dump!

 And immediate surroundings is used a lot here too, it means as far as your arm can reach, so if you have to get up from your chair then that would be distant surroundings.

 Also, we don't have the word trash!

So very honored to receive Vizma's first ever trashbook. she tells me everything she used was directly from the bin and her immediate surroundings.  I didn't scan every single page but each spread is fantastic and has bits of wit and wisdom throughout. my favorite page that I think is genius is the magazine picture of a girl with real butterfly wings glued on. Thank you Vizma!

I'd also like Vizma to tell me what 'fossick' means. I've learned from Helen Amyes that while Australians might speak English, it is a language of its own!

Wow, get this. We went downtown today for a birthday lunch for my husband and I kept finding some lovely bits of trash on the ground and of course picked them up, after the third one I thought "the universe is telling me I need to put these things together today". Then, I came home and what magic did I find in my mailbox?? An epic piece of trashpo from Dean. A great 'trashy" day all around!!
