All Things Trashpo

This is a place to explore all things trashpo (Trash Poetry)and found objects.  Trashpo is 1) economical 2) environmentally responsible and 3) challenging. It's a great way to repurpose all the trash that our planet is buried in!

me either :(

i STILL don't get it. Someone message me and clue in the clueless. Thanks DK, yes, aren't I brave. However, it was easy to say it. Glass houses would be WAY better. Will let you know the outcome, and also probably send you some shards.

Comment by DKeys on May 19, 2012 at 11:26pm

Angie, that took me waaaaaaaaaayyyy too long to get the joke. Public stoning....I get it:) NBS, you are brave to volunteer. Hopefully people will only throw glass houses.

Comment by Nancy Bell Scott on May 19, 2012 at 10:00pm

I am volunteering to be stoned in the town square whether or not anyone objects. It isn't exciting enough in my town yet this year.

Comment by DKeys on May 19, 2012 at 9:08pm

I say true believers of DKult feel free to post here unless anyone objects? if so, we can volunteer to be stoned in the town square:)

@DV - lol, indeed! reminds me of the metals dept. [mine] in grad school: at our end of the year show, someone asked "So where's the metal?" There was none in the show. [what i found Wewy interesting - undergrad was learning you medium [metals is exceedingly technical], grad was unlearning it: Creativity...

@DK - right on!

Dkult is a state of mind

Comment by DKeys on May 19, 2012 at 3:25pm

Like DVS said, people pursue mail art because there are no rules or restrictions. Trashpo is a state of mind and to me, one man's trash is another man's girlfriend, so if you think it's trash, it's trash. I think there is order in anarchy. Dkult is silly fun--it has nothing to do with me in particular, it's a Kult devoted to the love of trashpo. It is all inclusive and not meant for anyone to feel that it is exclusive or any kind of inside joke. If it makes anyone uncomfortable, maybe we should just keep the topic about trashpo-I love what you are saying about the mail art calls DVS-the topic/themes are just a touching off point and some people take it literally and others just do their own thing. Mail art rules because there are no rules.

Comment by De Villo Sloan on May 19, 2012 at 3:39am

Oh definitely, this is mail-art. There are no rules really. Discussions are strictly theoretical. You know, someone puts out a call for art around the theme of "blue cats." 25% of the work will be yellow dogs & the rest of the work has nothing to do with the call & it all gets posted in the "blue cats" show. Know what I mean? So it's whatever. Absolutely no restrictions.
