I just reorganized my artspace to make more room for more works in progress. 1 Reply

I work on many pieces simultaneously - not just mail art: paper, mixed media, collage, panels- and I had run out of space to place incomplete work as it dries. So I built a storage rack with many shelves, shown here in the back corner. Now my…Continue

Here's my artspace today, about like it usually looks. Semi-controlled chaos.

A month ago, I posted a photo of what my temp studio area looked like when I first set it up. I've been working in it since then and it's a bit messier. If I look to the right, I don't notice the stuff piled to the left, some things from the space we had to clear out, stuff that didn't get packed by the professionals and put in storage. The work on reconstruction will begin next week. Yay.

I agree, terrific site. I always like seeing other people's studios. It makes me feel like I'm in good company when I look around my messy space. Now in my temp space, I have less stuff & less area to be messy, but still..........

Vizma, beautiful work and beautiful studio, with glass and windows, reality penetrates into the interior space as well as we are permeable to things that inspire us...

It used to be in a U and it was good. Right now it's in a T, with the bigger table sticking out into the room. This makes two separate work spaces so my 8 yr old grand daughter had her oun "studio space" (as she called it). They moved to Gary last week, ten hours away. So I think I can use the space better another way,
I miss her. She is my little art buddy. She knew how to mix paint colors when she was 4. I was her early art education.

Fabulous story, Helga! Congrats on finding your rings, that's amazing.

I'm so happy that this group has inspired you!!! I'm looking forward to seeing the new U shaped space. I think it's a great solution which I'd also use if my studio didn't have 3 doorways!

Here is my art space...  DH calls it the nest.  This table is for painting and ink and spilling coffee.  On the other wall is a sewing table that stays dry...  hopefully.

I have been cleaning out boxes and sorting art supplies for the past couple of days.  I got inspired seeing some of the other art spaces the group has posted.  I want to move the sewing stuff to the other side, making space for my three worktables to set into a U shape.

Here is the little space I can still work...  the rest of my table space is covered in piles I still have to sort through.  One big thing!!!  see the little purple dish with the watch parts....  I lost my wedding rings....  about 3 years ago....  And this morning I found them!  This little dish had some change, some OLD Hershey Kisses, and the watch parts.  I threw out the chocolate and WOW there they were!

So cleaning does have some advantages!

Tomorrow I'm moving the furniture and hanging these three green pin boards above my tables....  I'll send another pic after its cleaned up.

Thanks gals, very kind of you to say.

Yes, Carina, the work went into the large frame at the other end of the room, it was difficult to photograph because of the shiny tape which I 'wrapped' across a painting.

Nancy, here's one I took before it went into the frame...
