Whether you create in a studio, atelier, shed, kitchen or on a coffee table, the artists' workspace has always been an intriguing place of information and interest to people.
Please share photos of YOUR mail art creating area. I want to see Artspaces in action, so no tidying up!! Let's see your pens, tools, glues, stamps, dirty wine glass, rubbish bin, storage space, etc!
Let's have a snoop in this group!!

I work on many pieces simultaneously - not just mail art: paper, mixed media, collage, panels- and I had run out of space to place incomplete work as it dries. So I built a storage rack with many shelves, shown here in the back corner. Now my…Continue

Here's my artspace today, about like it usually looks. Semi-controlled chaos.

If you inked her paws Ana, she could be a handy stamp!! (natural dyes of course!)
And the cat appreciates it all!
Here is my tiny work area- our dining table in the living room. It gets pretty messy, and I feel so much better seeing all of your work stations and realizing that so many of us are messy! Every few days i put everything away, but I have to take it all back out and make another mess the next day. I would love my own artspace- especially to have a dedicated art table. the stairs to my bedroom are right next to this table and this is where i am keeping a lot of my supplies- stamps, tape, glue, etc.
More pics later!
Quentin Crisp said "Never sweep. After four years it gets no worse."
It is a fabulous space but you should know that it is new (since January) and that i have been making in the kitchen, or other room comandeered for the day, since I married 22 1/2 years ago. My cardboard obsession dominated our living spaces and my husband said he wasn't sure where the food began and the art ended. The studio is made of straw bales which we lovingly put into a timber frame we paid someone else to put up. The walls are lime and hair plaster. We learned all those tricks when we renovated our 15 C house over the past 12 years. I have learned patience in my interesting life and this is my dream space! It is even heated with air source heat pump and hot water by solar thermal panels. Where do you live Cleo, maybe you can visit and make some mailart in the studio!
As a friend of mine once said, "cleaning is for small minded people." %-^
You do know that dust protects surfaces! Only clean when it really gets to you or you can't find something or someone you love!
Rebecca - don't envy you the party - I remember my sons' 18thssss - fun, but the mess afterwards (of course, we'll clean it up Mum!!!) Glad those days are behind me.
